24h DUBAI - Latest News! Morning has broken
Round 0700 hours the drivers could relax a little after a long period of darkness. More than half of the race-distance has been driven in the dark and it will be a relief for the drivers to drive again in the daylight.
During the night various contenders have had their share of problems. The Lammertink Porsche had a broken driveshaft which costet the team at least 15 laps to repair, later in the night an electrical problem threw them even further back to 15th position.
The CM Creativ Marketing GT3 lost their fine second place as the car came to a standstill on the track and had to be repatriated to the pits. The repairs dropped the car to sixth.
A testemony of good endurance gave the all new BMW 120d who's not only leading the dieselclass, but with six hours to go is also in a fine fifth place overall. The "testdrive" of the new car is without big problems, only the ABS had to be switched off and the drivers are now a little easier on the brakes.
Up front the Duller-GTR is still going strong but saw their 11 lap advantage brought back to only five laps. A problem at the back of the car brought the car into the pits for a security checkup. After the stop laptimes raised to 2:16s and with six hours to there is still a chance the second classified AC Bratislava-Porsche GT3 will reel them in. The Slovakian team is almost 12 minutes back, but is lapping momentarely 4 to 5 seconds quicker a lap. If they can keep up this pace we will get a close finish of the Toyo Tires 24h of Dubai.
After 90 minutes of qualifying it became clear who are the favourites for the overall win in de first Dubai 24h-race. Duller Motorsport has two BMW E46 GTR on track and
both cars did very well and grabbed pole position and second on the startinggrid.

Adventure, compliments and critics
Everything is on track and we and the people from Dubai Autorome are still working hard on the last details. Teams are excited to go to Dubai and to be part of this 24h adventure. Although we receive a lot of positive comments, suggestions and compliments, also some teams have some critics.

We have been working behind the screen very hard to organise and to solve important issues such as transport, tire service, catering, hotels, flights and many things more. We are pleased to see that the teams are very anxious to hear about news and weiter >>
Although the organisation is very satisfied because of the enthusiast’s reactions and reaching the maximum of pre-registrations, we apologize for those teams we have to disappoint.

On January 11-12-13th history will see the first 24h race in the middle-east. On a brand new circuit of the Dubai Autodrome the race will start on Thursday 12th at 14.00h. Besides the mainly European teams we will have some competitors from the Arabian Peninsula as well.
