Discipline comptant parmi les plus spectaculaires et les plus intenses du sport automobile, la Legends Cars Cup, originaire des Etats-Unis, s’apprête à prendre un nouvel envol dans notre pays en ce début d’année 2010. Envol qui se traduit avant tout par l’arrivée d’une nouvelle équipe organisationnelle et d’un nouveau promoteur. C’est la société 50n05e (en fait, les coordonnées géographiques du circuit de Spa-Francorchamps…) qui va désormais gérer la Legends Cars Cup Benelux, avec l’ambition de remettre cet excellent produit sur les rails, en poursuivant son développement…
« 50n05e est en fait une société spécialisée dans l’événementiel, explique Pierre-Nicolas Houyoux, son responsable. Depuis deux ans et demi, je disputais des courses de Legends Cars, et alors que j’avais manifesté l’envie de me charger de la promotion d’une compétition de ce type, les responsables européens de Legends Cars m’ont proposé de reprendre les rênes de la discipline au niveau du Benelux. Je ne me suis pas fait prier… Nous nous retrouvons dès lors à l’aube d’une nouvelle ère. Ce dont je me réjouis. »
Parmi les nouveautés de la saison 2010 réservée à ces bombinettes des pistes, on note le retour d’un championnat de Belgique qui sera riche de sept meetings organisés tant en Belgique qu’aux Pays-Bas, au Grand Duché de Luxembourg ou en France. A l’heure où les autres compétitions nationales consistent essentiellement en des épreuves de semi-endurance ou endurance, l’objectif de 50n05e est de faire de la Legends Cars Cup la nouvelle référence du sprint en terre belge.
« Pour parvenir à nos fins, nous avons décidé d’innover, poursuit Pierre-Nicolas Houyoux. Un système de parrainage permettra ainsi à des concurrents déjà inscrits de profiter d’une réduction de 15% en cas d’inscription d’un pilote n’ayant jamais participé à une course de Legends Cars Cup. Par ailleurs, des animations pour tous seront organisées dans les paddocks. Les voitures sont atypiques et originales. Notre but est dès lors d’en faire de même avec la mise sur pied et le déroulement des meetings, ainsi que la prise en charge des clients. Vous l’avez compris, la Legends Cars Cup doit reprendre son envol, et nous multiplierons les initiatives dans ce sens. »
Pour en savoir plus sur le renouveau de cette compétition différente de toutes les autres, 50n05e vous fixe rendez-vous les vendredi 29, samedi 30 et dimanche 31 janvier prochains dans les Halles des Foires de Liège, à l’occasion de l’International Racing Show Liège 2010.
