Saudi driver best in qualifying for Round 9 of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East
Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal after clinching pole position for Round 9.
Championship leader Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal grabbed pole position for the ninth round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East today.
The Saudi driver was fastest in qualifying at Reem International Circuit, outside Riyadh this afternoon with a time of 1:16.507.
Second fastest was Bahrain’s Sheikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa in 1:16.887, with Saudi’s Faisal Binladen, who leads the Mobil 1 Trophy title race for rookies and senior amateur drivers, just edged into third place after clocking 1:16.888.
Prince Khalid Al Faisal, 1:17.059, Abu Dhabi’s Khaled Al Qubaisi, 1:17.108, and Fahad Algosaibi, 1:17.128, completed the top six on the grid for Round 9 starting later in the afternoon.
Prince Abdulaziz with team-mate and nearest rival in the championship, Prince Khalid Al Faisal, who was fourth fastest in qualifying.
