Octane Motorsports Events Opens Up Office at City Center Airport

 
François Dumontier, President of Octane Motorsports Events Inc, promoter of the Edmonton Indy, is proud to announce the opening of Octane’s Western Canada office in Edmonton and the appointment of two key members of its team. Tamara Fahlman, Director of Communications, and Daryl Zelinski, Sales & Business Development Agent, have hit the ground running and joined Octane’s team of 25 employees.


“When we were first invited to take over the promotion of the Edmonton Indy, our plan was always to set up an Edmonton office with talented, local people and we are now extremely proud and excited to add Edmontonians to our team at Octane Motorsports Events.


Tamara Fahlman and Daryl Zelinski are real achievers in their respective areas. We have had the opportunity to discuss the future of the Edmonton Indy and I fully appreciate their knowledge of Edmonton, the community and our customers. I am confident that they will be a great contribution to the success of the upcoming Edmonton Indy,” said François Dumontier, President of Octane Motorsports Events. “Now that we have opened our office in Edmonton, I invite the business community, the media and the fans to get in touch with them, as well as with our General Manager Anne Roy.”


A native of Edmonton and graduate of Concordia University College of Alberta and Grant McEwan University, Tamara Fahlman brings to the company a decade of experience in communication. She has worked on many large-scale projects and is excited to add Edmonton Indy as her next challenge. Tamara will be in charge of all public, community and media relations for the Western Canadian territory, at the Edmonton office and will be involved in all advertising and promotion programs for the Edmonton Indy.


Another Edmontonian and a graduate of Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Daryl Zelinski is a well-known personality in the Edmonton sports and marketing community. Since the mid 90s, he has devoted most of his career to two of Edmonton’s major sport franchises, having spent five years with the Edmonton Eskimos and seven years with the Edmonton Oilers.


 His responsibilities at Octane cover many corporate sales programs: sponsorship, advertising, on-site displays and corporate hospitality at the Edmonton Indy. He is also working with businesses in Western Canada that are interested in Octane’s other two major motorsports events at Montréal’s Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
 

“As we promised, Octane Motorsports Events is determined to be actively involved in the Edmonton community. Tamara and Daryl are now in a position to help us achieve this important task,” said Anne Roy, General Manager of the Edmonton Indy.


“But the major task now for all of us on the team until race weekend is to provide Western Canada racing fans with a high quality motorsports event that not only meets but exceeds their expectations,” also said Ms. Roy who will soon be taking possession of the Edmonton headquarters at City Centre Airport at 10908-120 Avenue.
