San Luis


Capital City of the central Argentine province of the same name, San Luis was founded in 1594 and is located at the foot of the "Sierras Grandes". 


The climate is temperate all year round with an average annual temperature of 17º C - maximum temperature 33ºC / minimum temperature 3ºC.


The city of San Luis keeps the traditional features of the colonial style with big rambling houses, big residences, high canopies and sunny patios, mixed with modern buildings that compliment the traditional look of the city.


For visitors the city offers walks along tracks with thick woods in the Centenary Park or the Park of the Nations. Other attractions include the city Cathedral, with its neoclassical style with Corinthian columns, twin towers and a hemispherical cupola. 


San Luis also boasts many museums such as the History Museum, the Natural Sciences Private Museum and Dora Ochoa De Masramón provincial Museum.  All of them have objects on show that give evidence of the history and important discoveries in the San Luis region.


Apart from the city itself, there are plenty of picturesque towns and villages in the surrounding area where the landscape, the stories and the warmth of the people make San Luis the ideal place for visitors to explore and relax.



Potrero de Los Funes

The circuit of Potrero de los Funes is a semi-permanent race circuit located in the town of Potrero de los Funes, San Luis Province, Argentina.  The current circuit layout was first used in November 2008 when the FIA GT Championship visited for the first time. The 6270 metre track uses the streets of the town bordering the Potrero de los Funes dam and can accommodate up to 52,000 spectators.


Only 20 km from the capital city San Luis and connected by the Provincial routes No. 20 and 18, Potrero de los Funes is at the heart of the tourist destinations of San Luis.  Potrero de los Funes is located in a natural amphitheatre, 1,000 metres above sea level and surrounded by mountains up to 2000 metres.
