Third round of FIM WMX World Motocross Championship took place in beautiful region Trentino. Women´s world motocross cathegory is at Ciclamino track for the first time. Everybody was looking forward to fights between motivated riders and pretty nice weather lure on this circuit number of spectators. In today´s plan were qualifying races. The best rider in WMX was for today Chiara Fontanesi.
Start of women´s qualifying race was complicated too. The holeshot took motivated Britt van der Wekken. Red plate owner Chiara Fontanesi made a bad start. She had to fight and moved on to the front. In the first lap she jumped over ten riders. In the second lap she got second and she was trying to take well-riding Natalie Kane over. Chiara was succesful in fifth lap, she acquired first position and defend it until end.
Chiara Fontanesi: "I had a bad start as always. Then I took my rhytm and I enjoyed a race. Then I tried to pass Natalie, she went me to corner, but then I passed her. I won, so I am happy now."
HM Plant KTM UK rider Natalie Kane was very fast from start. Kane went to first position in second lap and it motivated her to good performance. Only Natalie was possible to catching up with Chiara, but skilled rider Fontanesi kept her position till finish line.
Dutch rider Britt van der Wekken was riding from the start in the first position. Van der Wekken couldn´t keep tempo of first two riders and they both took her over. Honda bike rider Britt lost 40 secs to first couple.
Right behind Wekken was riding another Dutch rider Marianne Veenstra. Everybody saw, that Marianne wanted to get third position, but Britt was faster and she beat her attacks back. In the end made Marianne a small mistake and she crossed finish line on fourth position with her KTM.
In the front were three groups. First two riders, second two riders and then, further 10 secs lost were fighting another riders. Joanna Miler from Poland was trying to catch Marianne in the start, but Marianne ran her away. KTM rider Marianne obtained fifth position.
The third Dutch rider Nina Klink showed to spectators stable ride. From the first laps she was riding on sixth position and she didn´t let nobody over her. She crossed finish photocell on sixth position. Home rider Francesca Nocera riding on KTM was trying to do her best, but she wasn´t able to get better position than seventh.
Justine Charroux was riding with Anne Borchers wheel to wheel for a long time. Justine obtained eighth place and Anne finished only one second behind her. Virginie Germond had to fight from behind starting pole and finally she closed first top ten riders.
GP of Brazil – Beto Carrero WorldIn terms of results the Mexican Grand Prix was Ken De Dycker’s strongest weekend of the season until now. In extreme conditions, given the heat and altitude, the lanky Belgian showed excellent form. Ken narrowly weiter >>
