One of the most fruitful weekends of the season for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris is just over.

The cars of the Opera-based constructor were in action on two fronts, the finale of the TCR Italy at Monza and the eighth round of the WTCR, the world's competition for TCR cars, at Wuhan, China.

In the home series, Gigi Ferrara conquered for the V-Action squad the wins in both races, clinching runner-up honours, only 2.5 points behind the Cupra of freshly crowned champion Salvatore Tavano. At Monza were also present the two cars entered by Otto Motorsport for Adriano Bernazzani and Edoardo Cappello, the latter taking an excellent fifth in Race-2.

Equally positive has been the outing on the world scene, with Kevin Ceccon visiting the points area twice, thanks to a P6 in Race-1 and a P8 in Race-2, albeit of conquering a P6 in qualifying, which allowed the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris to access Q2 in Sunday's qualifying for the first time.

Fabrizio Giovanardi's weekend was unluckier and made challenging by two incidents, as he hit the barriers at 200 kph in Friday's free practice because of a mistake, and was then victim of a contact from Tom Coronel in Race-1.

In the TCR Italy, the cars built at Opera have conquered the National Trophy for Teams/Constructors with 148 points, while in the WTCR, Team Mulsanne increases its tally to 49 points, maintaining its 11th position.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager

“We harvested some great results last weekend. The crews working at Wuhan, one of the toughest rounds of the season, have rebuilt Fabrizio's car in record time, showing a passion and determination, which represent well the spirit that characterises our involvement in the FIA WTCR.

We have conquered with Kevin, on a treacherous urban track such as Wuhan, an unprecedented result in qualifying that has allowed us to score points in the races, but also and foremost, we have proved that our car can now compete with rivals also in qualifying.

From a long distance but with great pride, we also followed the season-closing event of the TCR Italy, with Gigi Ferrara vice champion by a very close margin, which proves both the high level of the series and the competitiveness of our package. We now have a few busy weeks ahead of the Suzuka round, but I am convinced that we'll go to Japan boosted as ever”.
