With Aston Martin: PROsport will also be in the 2021 DTM Trophy

21.11.2020: • First registration in the GT racing series has been made, more are planned • DTM Trophy team boss Esser convinced: "Great format"

•    First registration in the GT racing series has been made, more are planned

•    DTM Trophy team boss Esser convinced: "Great format"

•    Schedule with 14 races on seven interesting race tracks

PROsport Racing made an early decision: The racing team from Wiesemscheid at the Nürburgring will also compete in the DTM Trophy in the 2021 season. PROsport has already made an initial registration in the racing series for near-production GT sports cars, and at least one further registration is intended. The enter of one or two Aston Martin Vantage is planned, and the proven Porsche Cayman PRO4 is also available.

“The first year of the DTM Trophy has convinced us. We want to continue and expand our involvement in this racing series as part of the DTM,” explains team principal Christoph Esser. “In the coming season, we want to rely on Aston Martin in the DTM Trophy and bring one or two Vantage to the startline. It is also possible to enter our well-known Porsche. We will announce the driver line-up at a later date."

DTM Trophy 2020: Peter Terting in the PROsport-Porsche sixth

In the past season of the DTM Trophy, which was successfully introduced in 2020 as the second division to the popular DTM, PROsport Racing achieved sixth place overall among 27 drivers with the former DTM driver Peter Terting and the Porsche Cayman PRO4.

Terting twice fought for second place on the podium with the striking orange painted Porsche and also started twice from the front row.

With pole position and podium: PROsport underlines the potential of Aston Martin

A few weeks ago, PROsport Racing proved that the Aston Martin Vantage also has the best prerequisites for a successful season in the DTM Trophy with a guest start at the penultimate race weekend of the ADAC GT4 Germany at the Lausitzring.

Tim Heinemann, the first DTM Trophy champion, put the British sports car on the first grid position and, together with Moritz Oestreich, was the first to finish the first race, but a time penalty for a yellow offense threw the duo back to sixth.

Heinemann/Oestreich also showed the potential of the Vantage in the second race and finished third on the podium.

Successful with Aston Martin: Double title win in the 24h Series Europe

PROsport Racing has successively developed the Aston Martin Vantage. Last weekend, the Nürburgring team celebrated another great success in the long history of the team with a double title win in the 24h Series Europe (Creventic).

With the Belgians Nico Verdonck and Rodrigue Gillion in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, PROsport won the team championship and also secured the drivers' title with Nico Verdonck. PROsport thus repeated the success of 2018, when the team, running a Mercedes-AMG GT3, also won driver and team titles.

Top-class stage: DTM Trophy with 14 races

“The DTM Trophy offers a great format that we really like. One driver, one care - that not only ensures first-class, exciting races, but this racing series as part of the newly designed DTM platform offers a top-class stage for us as a team as well as for ambitious drivers,” explains PROsport team boss Christoph Esser. The 2021 DTM Trophy will be held with a total of 14 races on seven top racetracks in Germany and abroad.
