Stölzel/Hinneberg (Škoda Octavia WRC) traten nach einem Getriebedefekt zum Start der WP 10 nicht mehr an. Markenkollege Tim Stebani traf mit seinem Octavia Kit Car auf WP 10 einen Telegrafenmast, konnte aber weiterfahren.

Mit einem gerissenen Getriebegehäuse muss Maik Stölzel den Skoda Octavia WRC nach WP 9 abstellen. Damit scheint die Pechsträhne für den Zwickauer in dieser Saison nicht abzureißen.
Den Gesamtsieg hat Anton Werner damit mit 3:04 Minuten Vorsprung auf den zweitplatziert Rainer Noller so gut wie in der Tasche.

Vor dem zweiten Regrouping, zur Halbzeit der AvD-Niederbayern-Rallye, waren drei prominente Ausfälle zu registrieren: Die Spitzenreiter Nittel/Brömmer mussten ihren Mercedes mit Hinterachsdefekt abstellen, und der BMW M3 ihrer Verfolger Moufang/Walch beendete die Rallye nach einem technischen Defekt am Abschleppseil des Servicewagens.

Gleich zwei der Topfavoriten sind in WP 6 ausgefallen. Uwe Nittel musste mit einer gebrochnenen Hinterachse aufgeben. Ein ähnliches Problem wurde ihm bereits bei der AvD Rallye Baden-Württemberg 2006 zum Verhängnis.

Italian Alessandro Bettega, the son of the legendary Attilio Bettega, has tested the Honda Civic Type R R3 that he will use on the Barum Rally Zlin. Bettega led his class on his debut outing in the car in Belgium two months ago, but retired after crashing out on a tricky corner.
