Francois Duval had just managed to get up to second place, but has now been forced to stop his Abarth Grande Punto with what has been reported as a wheel bearing problem. Also on SS10, Nicolas Vouilloz has had to stop and change a puncture, which has dropped him down to fifth place. Rossetti now has a 47-second lead over Jan Kopecky.

Frenchman Brice Tirabassi has reportedly gone off on SS9 of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal and is unable to continue, while a fastest stage time from Francois Duval has seen him pass Nicolas Vouilloz for second place. Vouilloz lost another 15 seconds on the stage, and Jan Kopecky (Peugeot) is now only 21.2 seconds behind him in fourth.

He is now 18.4 seconds ahead of Peugeot Belgium´s Nicolas Vouilloz, who is however dropping time and now just three seconds ahead of Francois Duval (Abarth) in third.
