SINGAPORE GRAND-PRIX

Read here more about the digital presence of F1 - also about Lewis Hamilton's social media fan base and much more!

Lewis Hamilton

"I am very happy to be here on the podium. Firstly I want to congratulate my team, amazing position for the team. We had no idea what would happen today. Obviously it was very fortunate at the beginning, but I couldn't be happier. I'm very grateful...We struggled yesterday, but God blessed me today. I needed a miracle.

Unfortunate for Ferrari but great result for the team. I had Sebastian in front of me and I was hoping to enjoy a real battle, but I am glad....when I saw what was unfolding...i knew I would have the pace when it started raining.

I capitalised on the firstlap  incident - who would have known that would happen? Daniel put up a really good fight today, I was hoping I would get to race with Sebastian at the beginning. But of course it's better the way it is, I'm just glad we brought it home. Also, firstly I want to congratulate my team, amazing position for the team," Hamilton says.

"We had no idea what would happen today. Obviously it was very fortunate at the beginning, but I couldn't be happier. I'm very grateful...Thank you Singapore"

What a day when I woke up this morning, I knew I had a chance. It dried up and it rained and I thought these are the conditions I love to be driving in.

Kimi had an incredible launch. I had a great turn one. I could not see what happened behind. I was just excited to race Sebastian and then I was wondering where he was and the safety car came out After that it was all about managing the tires like in Monaco 2008.

Today it was only about making sure that the management of the tires worked.

After that we had a great battle. It was all about managing the gap.

It seemed to work out. The conditions were cooler. I was greatful to the team. They did a fantastic job. Valterri is always here. It is great.

I need sometimes to digest that I have now 60 wins in tricky conditions with white lines. It is so tricky not to make a mistake.

All I need is to bring it home. But it is tricky...

When everything is against me....Everything came to me. If it had been dryer it would have been much more difficult. Still even in that scenario I thought it would be a lot closer. These conditions are very much an opportunity to make the difference. Today, I am very happy. Today was a massive challenge. I love it when it is like this.

For me, it was a lot about staying focused. Coming from last year, there were lots of mistakes, but I focused better.

It was not that wet at the start on the grid. The worse is a rolling start. It is a lot more dangerous. Kimi got a great start, Sebastian not as good. Kimi got launched and that was unfortunate. But I have not seen it all. So it is difficult to say I will not change my approach for the last Grand Prix of the season until the last race.

It is hard to believe that this is my 60th Grand Prix. The gap was also hard to believe. Today I went into the race thinking it was all about minimizing the damage in the race. To come out as the winner, this is a shock. I'll take it.

The team worked so hard. This was fortunate. We capitalized on the difficult situation.

I lost a few seconds after the safety car. I had a lot of pace and I was pulling and I did not want to open up a safety car window if there was too big a gap with Riccardo. Then I back off and then I was too slow and I had to go quicker again.

Hat trick of wins after the summer break....the Ferrari were so strong in Hungary. I was not sure about everyone. We thought Ferrari would be quick. But to come where we are at our weakest circuit and to win here is a great result.

The goal is to win, but I am very happy with the tires. Daniel was very consistent and I had to stay on my toes. This race shoes that it is about conditions of the car. And we have to see that we keep the car as it is.

Malaysia...we should be ok. Japan is high down force we could be strong and Red bull storng too. USA we should be fine.  Mexico I don't know...because of the maximum downforce but the track so high.

Brazil will be difficult to predict but we ll find out when we get there.

I was behind Daniel, so when Sebastian turned...in turn one I realized I was along side Sebastian. But I was keeping an eye on what was happening on my left side. Sebastian pulled away.

When he does so he can't see my line. You can't really understand where they are in the mirrors. It is difficult Today is a perfect result today. Today could not be anymore perfect.

We are where we did not expect to be. One place to hope for reliability. When it rains you are ...so so because it makes it so much trickier. But when I saw the rain, I knew it would open opportunities for a real race. And I was hoping that a bunch of cars would be missing.

Every now and then it happens: Monaco GP when I hit the wall...that is the thing not to do...

I am working step by step. Sometimes it is hard enough to work on the points. I feel I am driving better than ever. Sometimes it is difficult to say so. But I feel I am better. I am enjoying the challenge more and more than ever.

I have to think about my future. It gets altered when you have another year behind you. Who knows where I am going to end up. I don't have a desire to chase championships like Michael. I am more excited to chase wins than championships...

Daniel Ricciardo - P2

"Very happy and  fourth time on the podium in Singapore. However, I can't win this Grand Prix. I am disappointed to miss a win, but I am happy to be where I am.I watched the chaos in front of me. I don't know whose fault it was...but I have a bad eye sight. Otherwise I would have been caught in it. I can't win the bloody thing!

I'm trying, Riccardo smiles. Today we didn't have the Friday pace we showed, so a little disappointed to miss the win, but I have to be grateful to get the podium. I just watched the chaos unfold in front of me at the start - it just looked like three were trying to go into one.

Another Singapore podium...I had the pace to give Lewis a hard time.

It was frustrating but I am happy with the podium. But in fact today I struggled to look after the tires. I feel every time we are taking more out of the tires. We had to manage the car and the gearbox. The shape of the race did not really change. I have an idea if we were to redo the race, I feel that could have helped us to go another way.

The lines are so slippery. But the lines are there, a bit darker when it rains. IT is not a win but I am greatful to be on the podium.

I had a pretty average start. It gave me time to see where to go. I had backed off in case Max would come into me. I think I remember I saw kimi coming and I knew he had damage. It was the right thing to do to try to avoid everyone. It was pretty chaotic at the start, but I am glad I did it like it happened. The spray was more than I thought. The aquaplaning was not an issue. Visibility is bad, but it was ok. Back in the pack could have been tougher. It does not rain often here.

A rolling start would have been less exciting for the start. I don't think the guys involved in the start can blame the stewards for the way we started.

I am not too sure what the issues were. Obviously there were some issues going on. But I am not really sure the reasons behind it.

Malaysia...there were a few incidents. We might be stronger than last year. Japan we might be podium cars. It is sure that I will win somewhere. Don't know where. But we will....

Valterri Bottas - P3
: "First of all congratulations to  Lewis.  For us it was very good damage limitation, we definitely got lucky,"

Bottas commented "I struggled in the wet with the pace but in the dry it was good, better than expected. There's still plenty of races to come and plenty of opportunity - so Sebastian is definitely the next target...Damage limitation, but we got lucky. First I struggle in the wet, but then it worked well and I am closing the gap to Sebastian.

There are still plenty of opportunities. We have to have a 1-2 team finish here...1-3 is nearly perfect in the end.  The start was quite special and I got a bad start so I had plenty of time to have time to observe what was happening. I had the pace. I observed and then as the start tried to dry up it was not too bad. For us the starting point we had and the bad Friday and Saturday it was a bad week-end and we did great damage limitation. Really good...

The spray was ok, not to see is ok, but the worse is aquaplaning.

Tenth podium for me. The whole week-end was difficult I was not confident that we had the pace to be on the podium. When I woke up today I feel positive. There is no reason to give up. I went for it.

I am happy we are both on the podium. Third place to get home is fine. The main thing is to learn how to be happy as a team. So many points...imagine Ferrari...
