Nelson’s Momentum driving him to the top

After a top-six finish in his first race of the season, Nelson Philippe (#34 Juniper Soul / Opes Prime / Cosworth / DP01 / Bridgestone), is looking forward to a strong finish to the 2007 Champ Car World Series season in Mexico City . His late start this year forced Nelson to adapt quickly to the DP01 and his competition. Nelson’s strong performance in Australia demonstrated his ability to acclimatize swiftly to these new challenges. The Conquest Team is confident this initial momentum will drive Nelson through to an exceptional finish.
"As always, I'm thrilled to be back in Mexico as this will once again feel like my home race," said Philippe. "I came here a month ago and did lots of media for Champ Car and found myself having a great time with all my Mexican friends. After coming off a positive result in Surfers, I am very excited about getting on track on Friday. The Conquest Racing Team has a great road course car and I am eager to see how the DP01 will react when I throw it around the S's of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez! We will only be satisfied with a podium finish in the race and that will be our goal all weekend."
"Even though I may have missed almost the whole season, I feel up to speed and confident that I can bring the guys another trophy. I am also looking forward to the 100HP Power to Pass for this race, I am sure it will bring lots of excitement for fans as well as drivers with many more passing opportunities!"
Welcoming our Partners to Mexico City
Juniper Development Group has been so encouraged by Conquest Racing’s and Nelson’s performance at Surfers Paradise, they have decided to support again the team in Mexico City along with the Opes Prime group and Grafiprint. Surfers Paradise was the first time Juniper Development Group had partnered with a Champ Car team and the experience was a thrill for everyone involved. The #34 car will keep its brilliant blue, white and silver livery for the final race of the season.
Juniper Soul Development, a top-end luxury residential property, has continued to set real estate records with the recent sale of a sub-penthouse at the new Soul building in Surfers Paradise for $8.7 million.
"We really enjoyed having Juniper Development Group as part of the Conquest Racing team in Australia and proudly welcome them to join us again in Mexico City ," said Eric Bachelart, Conquest Racing Team Owner. "We feel that we have a valuable partnership for both groups and look forward to developing Juniper Group’s relationship into the future."
Opes Prime and Grafiprint will remain associated with Conquest and they have been important to the success of the team in the Champ Car World Series. Opes Prime specialises in providing securities lending and equity financing, corporate advice and finance, trade execution, and asset management services to sophisticated market players including other stockbrokers, banks, advisers, fund managers, corporations and individuals. Opes Prime will join the #34 car for a second race of the season while Grafiprint Digital Printing Materials looks forward to completing the season with Conquest, having joined earlier in the year.
Conquest Racing’s history in Mexico
This will be the fifth year that Conquest Racing will be competing at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course in Mexico City . In three of the past four finishes, the team has achieved at least one top-eight position with their drivers, a record that Nelson looks forward to perpetuating. He will face a difficult challenge at the winding track but the 100-hp boost and 75 seconds of Power to Pass that Champ Car has allowed for the final round will be helpful in overtaking his competition.
Event Information
The action commences in the fourteenth and final round of the 2007 Champ Car World Series season with provisional qualifying on Friday, November 9th for the Gran Premio Tecate Presentado por Banamex at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The green flag will drop on Sunday, November 11th at 2:00pm EST and the race will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
About Conquest Racing
1991 Indy Lights Champion Eric Bachelart started Conquest Racing in 1997 to compete in the Indy Lights series, winning races and scoring podium finishes with drivers such as Christophe Tinseau, Felipe Giaffone and Kristian Kolby.
Conquest Racing contested the 2002 Indy Racing League season with rookie Laurent Redon, netting a podium finish in just the third race of the season and clinching the Rookie of the Year award.
Conquest Racing rejoined the Champ Car family in 2003 and has been developing many rookie drivers over the past five years including Justin Wilson, Nelson Philippe, Charles Zwolsman and Andrew Ranger. Through their hard work, Conquest has scored eight top-five finishes and earned two podiums with Andrew Ranger and Jan Heylen. Conquest Racing looks forward to continuing its tradition of working with younger drivers and supporting the future of the Champ Car World Series.
