The World Racing League's Concorso Daytona 14 Hours started last weekend on legendary Daytona International Circuit.

Simon Tibbett :
"Going into the weekend I knew we had a good car and a great driver lineup. I was privileged to start the race since I had experience in that car before.

Things went well from the start, I got into a rhythm and managed my way through the field to first in class and just tried to maintain that lead. Our goal was to just be consistent, smooth, and not make any mistakes. It was all about that fine line of being fast but saving the equipment.

I drove for probably an hour and a half before handing the car over to Jason. We talked about racing together for a couple of years now so it was fun to finally get that first driver change in. He was right up to speed and kept us up front.

We cycled through drivers having Alex Ethier and Assen Rachev drive before I got back in. We had some inclement weather so there was a red flag in my second stint due to lightning but once back out I did what we did all day and just continued turning quick laps and staying out front.

I was personally hoping for a wet stint but the weather just didn't work on my side! Jason got in and the flood gates opened, it didn't last long but it made for some challenging conditions which of course he managed smoothly.

Jason ran the final stint as well to bring home the checkered flag first in class and ninth overall.

It was a great team effort, Casey Carden Motorsports did their job on preparing a fantastic car that just ran all day without any issues.

We were able to turn fast laps, stay consistent, and at the end of the day got to stand on the top step in Daytona which is always a treat."
