Mario on Qualifying: "I am very, very excited to be here in Watkins Glen. I’d always hoped to race here someday and it is as incredible as I’d thought it would be. The track is just awesome. This is our first time running the IndyCar on a road course.
We did get the chance to make a few changes today, so we are getting acquainted with it. I believe we have a lot of potential for improvement tomorrow. I think realistically, we should be able to run in the top-18 here and we are going to work hard for it. Happy 4th of July to all of the fans, the media and the track workers!"
Tyler Tadevic, Team Owner: "We are very glad to be back at the racetrack. We had a decent first day back but we definitely still have a lot of work to do with the car. In addition, Mario is still learning the track, but overall we are pleased with our progress. We are looking forward to an improvement in qualifying tomorrow and a solid race on Sunday with the Visit Mexico City car.
I want to give a special thanks to IndyCar for working with us the past few weeks. We accomplished a lot in our preparations."
Mario’s Mexico City Travel Tip: "The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City is the second most visited Roman catholic shrine in the world after the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican. The church is on the site of the original Basilica which was finished in 1709. It is also probably the busiest church in the world other than the Vatican, at least 30 masses are given each day of the year at the Basilica.
The Basilica is a very important pilgrimage site and is arguably the most important religious building in Mexico. It is really incredible, you must visit it when you go to Mexico City." For assistance planning your next vacation to Mexico City, visit www.mexicocity.gob.mx.
