Uwe Nittel – „Ich bin gespannt, was uns in der Türkei erwartet."

Die vierte Runde der Weltmeisterschaft in der Türkei (11.-15.06.08) ist für Uwe Nittel (Adelmannsfelden) komplett neu. „Ich bin gespannt, was uns dort erwartet", freut sich der Schwabe auf die neue Herausforderung.

Rückblende: Nach technischen Defekten musste Uwe Nittel seinen Mitsubishi Lancer letzte Woche beim WM-Lauf in Griechenland vorzeitig abstellen. Bis dahin fuhr das Team in der Spitze der P-WRC-Wertung für seriennahe Produktionswagen. „Unser Team von Pro-Race aus Rom hat die Probleme analysiert und die seit diesem Jahr in der P-WRC vorgeschriebenen Einheits-Reifen als Ursache ausgemacht", erklärt der Motorsport-Profi.

Diese sind deutlich schwerer als die Pneus, die das Team bei sonstigen Einsätzen nutzt. Dieser zusätzlichen Belastung waren die bislang genutzten Stoßdämpfer nicht gewachsen. Für den Einsatz in der Türkei hat das italienische Team nun neue Dämpfereinheiten im Gepäck.

Da es in der P-WRC deutliche Testbeschränkungen gibt, kann Nittel die neuen Dämpfer erst beim Shakedown, einem letzten Test unter Wettbewerbsbedingungen am Donnerstag ausprobieren. „Das ist zwar alles sehr kurzfristig, aber ich bin dennoch zuversichtlich, dass wir wieder wettbewerbsfähig sein werden", so der Inhaber der Rallyeschule ‚drift & drive’.

Ab Dienstag beginnt die Besichtigung der WM-Strecken rund um das Rallye-Zentrum im Badeort Antalya. Nach dem Shakedown am frühen Donnerstag läuft schon um 17.00 Uhr die Zuschauer-Auftaktprüfung am Rande von Antalya. Von Freitag bis Sonntag stehen dann 19 anspruchsvolle Schotter-WP’s überwiegend in den Bergen südwestlich von Antalya auf dem Fahrplan.

Da es von der Küste direkt in die hochgelegenen Berge geht, sind es vor allem die dort häufigen Regenfälle, die durch wechselnde Streckenbedingungen zusätzliche Spannung in die Rallye bringen. „Nach allem was ich bislang gehört habe und den bisher gezeigten Fernsehaufzeichnungen erwartet uns da eine sehr interessante Veranstaltung", freut sich Nittel auf seine Türkei-Premiere.

Die Marschrichtung ist für den zweifachen Familienvater und seinen Münchner Co-Piloten Michael Wenzel deshalb klar, „nach zwei Ausfällen können wir nur noch mit sehr viel Glück in der WM-Wertung ein Wörtchen mitreden. Für uns muss es jetzt darum gehen, mit guten Einzelergebnissen bei den weiteren Läufen zu überzeugen."
