Autosportfans kunnen het weekend van 7 en 8 juli weer groot in hun agenda omcirkelen. Dat weekend vindt namelijk op Circuit Zolder de Zolder Superprix plaats, met spectaculaire raceklassen zoals de Supercar Challenge en het Dutch GT Championship.
Daarnaast komen ook de Swift Cup, Clio Cup en Westfield Cup in actie, waarin altijd op het scherpst van de snede wordt gereden waardoor spektakel gegarandeerd is. Tot slot verschijnen ook de deelnemers van de Special Open Trophy aan de start. Een bomvol programma dus, dat al voor slechts € 15,- euro te bezoeken is.
Het wordt voor V-Max Racing Management alweer de vierde keer dat het in juli een groot autosportevenement op Circuit Zolder organiseert. De afgelopen jaren heette dit evenement de Zolder Superleague, met als hoofdact de Superleague Formula.
Deze klasse komt dit jaar echter niet naar Circuit Zolder, waardoor besloten is om de naam van het evenement te veranderen in Zolder Superprix. Ondanks het ontbreken van de Superleague Formula denkt de organisatie erin geslaagd te zijn om voor de toeschouwers een fraai programma samen te stellen. De hoofdacts zijn dit jaar de Supercar Challenge en het Dutch GT Championship, met daarbij nog verschillende aantrekkelijke raceklassen.
De Supercar Challenge is de afgelopen jaren uitgegroeid tot hét GT- en toerwagenkampioenschap van de Benelux. De klasse staat garant voor grote startvelden en close racing met schitterende bolides op de meest toonaangevende circuits.
Dit seizoen telt de Supercar Challenge zes divisies, waarin alle auto’s ingedeeld worden op basis van hun gewicht/pk verhouding. Aan de start staan dit jaar onder andere Vipers, Aston Martins, Porsches, Moslers, Lotussen en ga zo maar verder. Geen enkele andere klasse kent zo’n divers deelnemersveld als de Supercar Challenge.
Het Dutch GT Championship is de koningsklasse van het Zandvoortse Dutch Power Pack en wil ook in 2012 bewijzen de eredivisie van de nationale autosport te zijn. Met een flink veld aan fraaie sportwagens en de top van het nationale coureursgilde is spektakel wederom verzekerd. Aan de start verschijnen tot de verbeelding sprekende bolides als BMW, Camaro, Corvette, Lotus, Porsche en Nissan, bestuurd door de top van de Nederlandse autocoureurs.
Het Dutch GT Championship neemt vanuit Zandvoort ook een paar andere raceklassen mee uit het Dutch Power Pack, zijnde de Dutch Renault Clio Cup en de Formido Swift Cup. De Dutch Renault Clio Cup is al jarenlang een vaste waarde in het Dutch Power Pack. De klasse onderscheidt zich door een goedgevuld startveld, een sterke competitie en betrouwbare, échte raceauto’s.
In de Dutch Renault Clio Cup wordt geracet zoals het in cupracen hoort te zijn. Met bijna dertig auto’s aan de start mag de Clio Cup zich tot de populairste autosportklassen in Nederland rekenen. De Formido Swift Cup is al vijf jaar dé opstapklasse van de nationale autosport. De merkencup wordt verreden met een door de firma Intrax speciaal ontwikkelde raceversie van de Suzuki Swift Sport. In 2012 beschikken de rijders over het nieuwe model Swift, een echter racer die nog sneller en nog beter te besturen is.
Tot slot komen er ook twee open klassen naar Circuit Zolder. Vanuit Nederland is dit de Westfield Cup, inmiddels uitgegroeid tot één van de grootste klassen van Nederland met gemiddeld dertig rijders aan de start. Uit België is de Special Open Trophy afkomstig, een klasse met een grote variëteit aan open auto's. Bekende wagens uit dit kampioenschap zijn onder andere de Radicals en de KTM X-Bow, maar ook snelle Lotussen en Norma’s.
Kaarten voor het evenement zijn vanaf heden te koop bij Primera (Nederland), de Free Record Shop (België) en online via www.zoldersuperprix.be. Kaarten zijn al verkrijgbaar vanaf slechts € 15,- euro en kinderen tot 12 jaar hebben gratis toegang. Bovendien zijn de kaarten dit jaar ‘all-access’, wat wil zeggen dat je met een kaart toegang hebt tot de paddock en alle tribunes, inclusief de hoofdtribune.
