A1-Test für Chaouki Chikhani perfekt

Bei Chaouki Chikhani (RL) ist es am 15.09.2008 absolut perfekt gelaufen. Und wie. Der vergangene Montag wurde zu seinem ganz großen Tag. Vor 2 Tagen saß Chikhani im britischen Pembrey erstmals im A1-Rennwagen. „Noch nicht die neue Ferrarikonstruktion", so der schnelle GT-Hero aus dem Libanon soeben per Telefon aus Paris. Dort machte er einen Zwischenstopp auf dem Wege zurück nach Deutschland.

„Gerade hat man mich vom Team angerufen und mich „stand by" für Zandvoort Anfang Oktober bestellt", so Chikhani. Der junge kanadische Ex-F3-Aufsteiger Daniel Morad wird den ersten Ferrari in Holland pilotieren. Bei den Testfahrten auf regennasser Bahn in Wales (GB) gelang es Chaouki Chikhani auf Anhieb zu überzeugen.

„Die Herren waren erstaunt wie schnell ich mich dort als GT-Pilot an den Formelwagen gewöhnen konnte. „Die enge Strecke war dabei für mich keinesfalls hilfreich. Viel lieber wäre ich in Silverstone oder in Donnington gefahren. Aber dazu besteht Mitte Oktober Gelegenheit für mich. Dann auch in der neuen Ferrarikonstruktion von Formel-1-Konstrukteur Rory Byrne".

Zu erfahren war auch das die Mannschaftsführung des Teams aus dem Libanon Chikhani seiner Erfahrung wegen haben wollen. Er ist es gewohnt mit PS-Zahlen jenseits von 750 umzugehen. Was zusätzlich als sehr wichtig angesehen wird ist das Chikhani im Libanon sowie den arabischen Nachbarländern der bekannteste GT-Rennfahrer der gesamten Region ist. Damit dürfte der Mann aus Bigfeier vor den Toren von Beirut ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Teams aus dem Libanon werden.

Seinen nächsten Renneinsatz hat Chaouki Chikhani in 10 Tagen im italienischen Monza im Rahmen des 7. DMV-Challenge-Weekends auf einem Porsche 993 GT2. Seine Techniker Henry und Janis stehen Gewehr bei Fuß.

Die Crew will in Monza gewinnen. „Viele Freunde werden mich besuchen", lächelt Chikhani. Der königliche Park von Monza ruft. Ein Klassiker der Rennstrecken Europas.
