Chaouki Chikhani testet den Ferrari-A1

Bei Chaouki Chikhani (RL) erinnert vieles an große Profifahrer. Als vor einigen Jahren der Brite Coulthard in die Dienste von F1-Team Red Bull berufen wurde, war das wohl ein langfristig angelegter Schachtzug der Österreicher. Red Bull hatte gerade das Jaguar-F1-Team von Ford übernommen. Um vom Beginn an Stabilität in das Programm zu bekommen, entschied sich Red Bull für den routiniertesten Piloten am Markt, den Briten Coulthard. Nicht nur für McLaren hatte der Schotte zuvor beachtliche Erfolge eingefahren. In den Jahren des unbezwingbaren Deutschen Michael Schumacher war es Coulthard, der der Konkurrenz von Ferrari immer wieder empfindliche Schlappen beibrachte.

Nun scheinen auch die Verantwortlichen des A1-Teams-Libanon einen ähnlichen Weg gehen zu wollen. Sie wollen einen erfahrenen Piloten in ihr Team einbinden.

Über Billy Karam, dem Berater der libanesischen A-1-Operation, kam Chaouki Chikhani bei den für das internationale Formel-Team der Libanesen verantwortlichen Männern ins Gespräch.

. „Ich bin mit 46 Jahren zwar nicht mehr so jung wie manch hochgelobter Junior, aber auch Fangio (5 mal Weltmeister) brachte in meinem Alter absolute Spitzenleistungen", strahlt Chikhani heute vor seinem Abflug zu A-1-Testfahrten nach Bristol in Wales (GB). Von Dort reist Chikki noch heute nach Pembrey. „Eine sehr kleine Rennstrecke", so der Libanese mit Wohnsitz Paris und Bad Vilbel.

In Pembrey soll „Chikki" am Montag den neuen von Ferrari auf Basis eines F1-Rennwagens gebauten A1-Rennwagen testen. „Du kannst Dir nicht vorstellen wie ich diesem Test entgegenfiebere", so der Libanese.

„Meine Landsleute sind momentan deutlich unter Wert in der Meisterschaft platziert", so Chikhani. „Um das zu verbessern möchte ich mich dort mit meinen Erfahrungen sehr gerne einbringen". 2008 war Chikhani in der DMV-Challenge unterwegs.

Unterstützt wird seine DMV-Saison 2008 übrigens vom libanesischen Porsche-Club. Das Leichtgewicht „CC"-Chikhani (169cm / 69Kg) ist ein echter Fighter. Ein Mann also, den man sicher sehr erfolgreich im A-1-Team-Libanon einsetzen kann.

10 Gesamtsiege hat Chaouki Chikhani allein in den UHSport-Meisterschaften bisher geholt. „Mein härtestes Rennen hatte 2006 gegen Leute wie Robert Wallenborn, Tommy Probst und Klaus Horn auf dem Salzburgring. Dort habe ich zuletzt gewonnen".

Dann der 07.08.08 – Erste Gespräche bei einem Dinner am Abend in Bairut gestalteten sich viel versprechend für Chaouki Chikhani. Es wird zu Testfahrten in Donington kommen.

Nun am 12.09.08 . es geht los. Flug nach England und weiter im Auto nach Pembrey in Wales. Und am 15.09.08 dann der erste Test im neuen „Ferrari"-A1 für Chaouki Chikhani, dem schnellen Libanesen.
