Watch A1 Team GBR in action on Sky Sports and Five

26.08.2008: Watch A1 Team GBR in action on Sky Sports and Five

A1 Team Great Britain’s supporters can once again keep up with all the action live on Sky Sports and watch the highlights on terrestrial as Five continues its coverage Fans of A1 Team Great Britain and the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport will be able to keep up with the excitement as Sky Sports and Five have both extended their agreements to broadcast the global motor racing series ahead of the prospect of a thrilling season four, which will see the new A1GP Powered by Ferrari cars in action.

Sky Sports, which has broadcast A1GP since its inaugural race in September 2005, has extended its contract as host broadcaster for a further three years to cover the 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. Sky Sports will continue to broadcast live coverage of Saturday qualifying and Sunday’s races as well as airing a number of repeat programmes.

The Sprint and Feature races will again be shown uninterrupted, with popular presenter Georgie Thompson returning to front the show in the studio. Supporters of GBR will be able to enter exclusive competitions on the show - the top prize will be tickets and behind-the-scenes access to the British A1GP round in May 2009. Terrestrial viewers will not miss out as Five will continue to broadcast a highlights package on its regular late night sports slot within a week of the race.

Broadcasting times for the Sky Sports and Five programmes will be published on www.a1gp.com  and www.a1teamgbr.com  throughout the season.

Katie Clements, Team Principal, A1 Team GBR: "Ahead of such an exciting season, it is fantastic news that A1GP has confirmed that television broadcasts will continue on both Sky Sports and Five, therefore enabling all of Great Britain the option of watching their national team in action in a season in which we are determined to take the championship."

Richard Dorfman, General Manager - Broadcast and Media, A1GP: "I am delighted that we can continue the relationships with both Sky Sports and Five and offer programming to both Satellite and Terrestrial viewers.

We have had a partnership with Sky Sports since the beginning of A1GP and look forward to continuing to provide a fantastic live programme for viewers, while Five will enable us to reach every home in Great Britain." -
