Enthusiastic racer, Alex Tagliani, has certainly proved his skill behind the wheel this past racing season; Starting from the front row in a Champ car in Long Beach; winning at Edmonton in a Canadian NASCAR and finishing fourth in the Nikon Indy 300 in Australia, his second IndyCar Series road course event. Karting will only be the fourth professional level racing series he will compete in during 2008!
Definitely no stranger to the sport of Go-Karting, Tag had his passion for racing sparked by the power packed mini vehicle at the young age of eight years old while on a trip to visit his grandfather in Italy.
The popular driver certainly never lost his love for karting, and was recently spotted behind the wheel during a nighttime endurance kart race in his hometown of Las Vegas.
Tag has also been seen driving his twin 125-shifter kart, a custom-built monster machine that his father Raymond engineered especially for Tag’s training endeavors.
Competing against a prestigious field of drivers will surely see Tagliani fired up for the All-stars Karting classic in Orlando this coming Thursday evening.
“I am really looking forward to getting back in a kart this week. It's a chance to get back to my racing roots and to get some good off-season seat time. A lot of people don’t realize the level of skill it takes to drive a kart well. Many of the great drivers learned how to do what they do behind the wheel of a go-kart.”
The All-Stars Karting Classic takes place on the evening of December 11th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and will be televised on Fox Sports in April 2009.
