The Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR by Romeo Ferraris are about to start their engines for the 2019 season. Two units of the car built at Opera will be entered by TMR Engineering in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, the IMSA-sanctioned series that kicks-off this weekend on the legendary Daytona track, in the framework of the 24 Hours race.



Florida-based TMR Engineering, led by Louis Milone, has opted for the Italian car: it is a great honour and responsibility given the fondness that the Alfa Romeo brands enjoys in the US. Romeo Ferraris has provided its technical support, and lent personnel, in all the tests done by the US team.



The main session took place on 4-6 January during the traditional "Roar" collective test that precedes the 24 Hours event. It was a perfect opportunity to gain track mileage and experience for the two driver pairs, formed by Alex Papadopulos and Venezuela's Alex Popow,  and by Tm Lewis and Argentina's Roy Block, respectively.



The Michelin Pilot Challenge will include 10 events, on the most famous US tracks and on Canada's Bowmanville. The standard race format is 2 hours, with  the Daytona, Watkins Glen and Laguna Seca rounds on a race duration of 4 hours. The grand finale is scheduled on 11 October at Road Atlanta.0
