AUTOMEDON: a brilliant car – show 04.11.2014: On a beautiful and sunny October week-end, the big yearly high mass

On a beautiful and sunny October week-end, the big yearly high mass gathering car and motorbike fans can boast breaking all-time records.


As usual, not only did Automédon give its visitors a chance to dream but it also provided them with all the necessary equipment and gear to maintain and restore their vintage cars. Automédon attracts families and is a meeting-place for friends. It keeps expanding and this year’s edition will remain imprinted in memories.


Exceptional podiums means an all-time high success with more than 17,000 visitors.


Richness, diversity and congeniality were the keywords of this 14th edition.


This year’s theme – competition and performance – was illustrated by remarkable cars: the Chenard & Walcker type Z1 1925 tank, the C 60 Pescarolo, 2003, the GT 40 Ford, 1967 from the Musée des 24 heures, the Silver Arrow Mercedes W 154, 1939, from the Cité Automobile de Mulhouse and its Schlumpf collection.


The 35 CV Panhard, 1933, known as the breaking-records Panhard stood majestically in the middle of a podium gathering 14 Deutsch and Bonnet cars which had never been united before.


Among other curiosities there was the Cabriolet Traction 11 BL, 1939, which had been walled up since 1977 and which made its first coming out at the show. It caused a great sensation, just like the racing Mustangs.


80 motorbikes of English brands (classic, café racers, dragsters) from 1928 to 1980 were all gathered together on the motorbike podium and the 5th Motorama welcomed more than 2,000 motorbikes.


The vintage car car-park, enlarged this year, broke all records too with more than 3,000 vehicles throughout the week-end, from the utility to luxury cars representing all brands and models, thus making Automédon car show the most important exhibition place for vintage cars in France.





The 2014 gold wheel trim competition, reserved to Clubs for the quality of their decorations was won by three stands:


- The Club SIMCA France (Gold wheel trim) which presented a Canadian SIMCA 8, 1948, in a woodcutting ambiance.

- The Club Deuche 77 (Silver wheel trim) which celebrated the 90th anniversary of André Citroën’s black Cruise.

- The Club Avec’L (Bronze wheel trim) which presented a special René Berte, a single-seater that ran at the Bol d’Or, Angoulême and Montlhéry in 1948..
