Ab dem nächsten Herbst wird der Tank Teil eines neuen Luxus-Elektrofahrzeugs von Karma sein und stellt damit die globale Einführung des einzigartigen doppelgeformten Tanks von TI Automotive für Hybridelektrofahrzeuge(HEV, Hybrid Electric Vehicles)-Anwendungen dar.
Dieser innovative Kunststofftank, der bereits in Vorserien-Validierungsfahrzeugen eingesetzt wird, wiegt nicht nur deutlich weniger als herkömmliche Stahltanks, sondern toleriert auch eine Kraftstoffdampfbeaufschlagung bis zu 500 mbar.
Dadurch wird die Fahrweise des Fahrzeugs im vollen elektrischen Betriebsbereich optimiert. TI Automotive fertigt diesen Tank unter Verwendung seines patentierten und mit dem 2014 PACE-Innovation-Preis ausgezeichneten Herstellungsverfahrens mit dem Namen Tank Advance Process Technology (TAPT).
"TI Automotive nutzt seine Design- und Fertigungstechnologien, um eine breite Palette fortschrittlicher Kunststofftankprodukte zu entwickeln, die den verschiedenen Kraftstoffdampfdruckanforderungen für Elektrofahrzeuge mit erweiterter Reichweite (EREV, Extended-Range Electric Vehicles) entsprechen und diese übertreffen.
Der doppelt geformte Tank für das Fahrzeug von Karma stellt unser leistungsstärkstes Produkt für den vielfältigen Markt der Luxus-Elektrofahrzeuge dar. Unsere globalen Kunden sind von dieser technologischen Weiterentwicklung begeistert und wir können unsere Führungsrolle in der Fluidtechnik weiter ausbauen", so Hans Dieltjens, Executive Vice President - Fuel Tank and Delivery Systems.
Karma produziert derzeit zwei luxuriöse Elektrofahrzeuge, das Revero und die limitierte Ausgabe von Aliso. Beide sind so konzipiert sind, dass sie durch innovatives Design, Technologie und Personalisierung unverwechselbare Erfahrungen mit luxuriösen Elektrofahrzeugen ermöglichen. Die Zukunft des Automobilherstellers wird durch eine gut fundierte Geschäftsstrategie und einen Produktplan unterstützt, der sich bis in das nächste Jahrzehnt erstreckt, so Bob Kruse, Chief Technology Officer von Karma.
