This month Walking With The Wounded lost a true friend of the charity. We would like to pay tribute to Jules Roberts who not only raised thousands of pounds for WWTW by taking part in various fundraising events, but who also trained many of the ex-servicemen and women who took part in our expeditions.
Jules had an extraordinary ability to engage with people, making everyone he came into contact with feel like a friend. He will be sorely missed by us all.

One step at a time for Emily
Walking With The Wounded receives fantastic support from our veteran community. Every day they inspire us with their determination, drive and ambition. One such veteran is Emily who took on a 5km sponsored walk for WWTW weeks after undergoing a total hip replacement and, raising just over £430 for the charity.

Nick Knowles & DIY SOS to revisit Veteran Street in Manchester
To mark it's 20th anniversary, BBC DIY SOS will revisit some of the most memorable projects around the UK including Walking With The Wounded's Veteran Street in Manchester.
WWTW's hub on the street was built as a result of the project to support those vulnerable and hard to reach ex-servicemen and women and their families in the region and beyond who have struggled most since leaving the Armed Forces. Some of them have been homeless, some have been in police custody and many have mental health difficulties.
A training house was also built which provides those men and women with temporary accommodation during their vital pathway back to independence. For many ex-servicemen and women, employment is a key factor in regaining their independence.
The special episode will air in November. Keep an eye out and be prepared to be amazed at some of the positive outcomes the team has achieved!
