MATERIALICA Award 2019: Expert Jury To Choose the Best Submissions

18.09.2019: • Innovative materials for a sustainable use of resources • Three finalists in the special category "Student" The winners of the 17th MATERIALICA Design + Technology Awar

•    Innovative materials for a sustainable use of resources

•    Three finalists in the special category "Student"

The winners of the 17th MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award have been selected: In their meeting, the jury of experts selected the most innovative and sustainable products and projects as the finalists of this prestigious award, which is the only one in the world positioned at the interface of design, technology and materials.

More than a dozen companies and organizations, from Tier 1 automotive suppliers to specialized small and medium sized companies, can hope to win the coveted Best Of-Award in one of the four competition categories. In the "Student" category three competitors can hope to win the prize money of 1,000 Euro for their submissions.

"Once again, it was a great pleasure to discuss with my jury colleagues the consistently very good contributions. On one hand, the award submissions address solutions for a sustainable mobility, on the other hand they address the thoughtful use of resources. As a trade fair dedicated to sustainability, we send a clear message with this", emphasizes Robert Metzger, Managing Director of MunichExpo and organizer of the Award. Prof.

Peter Naumann, lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Munich at the Faculty of Design and Chairman of the Jury, adds: "We are very pleased to see that nature is a source of inspiration for new innovative products, but is also perceived as a common good requiring protection for the sake of mankind that plays a key role in the development of new materials and applications."

The finalists are now awaiting the announcement of the winners of the Silver and Gold Awards in the categories Material, Product, Surface & Technology, CO2 Efficiency and the special category Student and the Best Of-Awards for the category winners.

The official award ceremony of the MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award is traditionally held on the first day of the eMove360° – International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0 – electric – connected - autonomous, on 15 October 2019 at 6pm (Messe München, Forum in Hall A6). The event will once again be hosted by TV anchorman Jan Stecker (Automotive, Sports).
