Automotive treasures in the Mercedes-Benz Museum and other collectors’ vehicles in the “Holy Halls” will be impressively showcased next year in the Mercedes-Benz Classic Calendar 2020. Titled “One year of Classic Dream Cars”, the calendar includes twelve thrilling shots.



 The new Classic Calendar costs 29.90 euros and can now be preordered online from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Store (https://www.mercedes-benz-classic-store.com/en/literature-media/print-media/calendar/1641/mercedes-benz-classic-calendar-2020?c=168). As of mid-October 2019, the calendar will also be available directly in the Mercedes-Benz Museum shop.



These photos tell a very special automotive home story: the Mercedes-Benz Classic Calendar 2020 titled “One year of Classic Dream Cars” invites the beholder to go on a journey of captivating photos taken during twelve highly private visits to dream cars bearing the famous star. The breathtaking classics are at home in the “Holy Halls” – the depots of the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection, which holds some 1,000 vehicles – and in the “Legend” rooms of the Mercedes-Benz Museum.



Each calendar photo, taken with striking light effects, points to a very special history. Such is the case with the Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II (W 201) from 1990 (cover picture and December photo): this high-performance saloon is pictured standing in front of a line of state-of-the-art DTM touring cars. The dynamically staged comparison is reminiscent of the great successes achieved by Mercedes-Benz in 30 years of DTM involvement.



The vehicles in the permanent exhibition of the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which were photographed with a great deal of understanding for the effect and presence of the “Legend” rooms, also exude great moments in the history of the brand: the Mercedes-Simplex 40 PS (June) is the world’s first modern automobile and represents the birth of the Mercedes brand in motorsport.



And just as Mercedes-Benz interpreted the sportiness in the genes of the brand during the 1950s, the 300 SL “Gullwing” (W 198), the 300 SL Roadster (W 198), the “Uhlenhaut Coupé” (W 196 S) derived from the 300 SLR racing car and the highly elegant 300 S Cabriolet A (W 188) are brought to life in November.




Dream locations of classic automobiles



Sometimes mysterious, but always varied and diverse are the “Holy Halls” – the dream locations of classic automobiles. The photos in the Classic Calendar also make it possible to draw correlations over the decades based on the car collections in the company depots. Take a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series (C 197), for example, which seemingly “starts a conversation” with Mercedes-Benz super sports cars and racing cars just waiting to fascinate people once again. xannonce genève



The spirit of the great anniversary year in 2019 themed “125 Years of Motorsport” can be quite literally felt on the October 2020 page, which showcases what at first glance appears to be a quite reserved and elegant CL 55 AMG F1 Limited Edition (C 215) from 2000 parked between Formula 1 cars. This high-performance coupé, however, which was limited to just 55 units, was the world’s first production car to feature ceramic brakes and was derived from the CL 55 AMG Official FIA F1 Safety Car.
