JAC Motors' reliable T6 double-cab geared for hard work

• A rugged workhorse with a powerful engine and reliable drivetrain.
• Versatile to suit the needs of entrepreneurs and big fleet operators.
• Comfortable driving dynamics for all lifestyle requirements.

The T6 is JAC Motors' sixth-generation international pick-up design. It was launched as the best competitive offering in the Chinese market in 2015, with the lowest sticker price, best performance, biggest payload, and a list of impressive standard features.
Since the local launch of the T6 double-cab in 2018, it has impressed its owners with its reliability, durability, and practicality. Its powerful turbo-diesel engine and ultra-wide body make it more versatile for workhorse applications, catering to many businesses operating big transport fleets.
The sedan-like design of the T6 double-cab provides excellent driver comfort and makes it an ideal choice for entrepreneurs who use their bakkies for both work and lifestyle purposes. Advanced technology and a high standard specification level ensure a comfortable and relaxing driving experience.
"The T6 is a rugged all-rounder and popular choice with customers who want the best value-for-money double-cab on the market. Its owners are particularly impressed by its reliable and durable drivetrain and low maintenance cost," says Karl-Heinz Göbel, CEO of JAC Motors South Africa.
A rugged workhorse with a powerful engine and reliable drivetrain
The T6's proven 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine was developed in cooperation with the German company FEV. The responsive common-rail diesel engine fitted with an intercooler and Electrical Variable Geometry Turbocharger (EVGT) delivers 100 kW @ 3 600 rpm and 320 Nm torque between 2 000 to 2 600 rpm.
The powerplant, which pairs to a 5-speed manual transmission, effortlessly reigns in all the torque available throughout its powerband. The smooth transmission of power to the rear wheels ensures a relaxing and comfortable driving experience, meeting various customer demands, from heavy loads to urban social driving.

The T6's fuel consumption is outstanding because its low torque curve leads to earlier and fewer gear changes. With a fuel consumption figure of 8 L/100 km in a combined cycle, the 76-litre tank will give you a 950-kilometre range.
"JAC Motors' products have a proud record of reliability that serves as a primary motivator in our worldwide sales approach. Recently, one of our T6 owners proudly posted on Facebook that his bakkie clocked up 233 556 km in less than two years. He was delighted by the reliability and durability of his bakkie, as well as the great after-sales service he receives from JAC Motors South Africa," says Göbel.
Versatile to suit the needs of entrepreneurs and big fleet operators
The T6 features a rugged ladder frame suspension and a double-wishbone independent front suspension with coil springs. This type of suspension configuration can better suppress body roll with more substantial lateral rigidity, resulting in superior handling performance and passenger comfort.
The 245/65 R17 tyre size of the T6 improves loading performance and reduces understeer. Its turning radius of 6.2 metres results in easy urban driving and manoeuvring in tight parking spots.
The T6's payload is 900 kg, and it supports a maximum Towing Mass (Braked) of 1 550 kg. It offers the biggest cargo space in its class, allowing ample room for any cargo and tools. The double-skinned load box measures 1 520 mm × 1 520 mm × 470 mm and is sprayed with an anti-scratch and corrosion-resistant truck bed liner.
"Our rugged T6 bakkie offers potential customers a reliable workhorse with excellent gravel-road ability, a comfortable cab and decent-sized load box at a much lower purchase price than its double-cab competitors," says Göbel.

Comfortable driving dynamics for all lifestyle requirements
The T6 double-cab boasts a muscular workhorse demeanour coupled with sedan-like comfort. Its large grille, hawk-eye headlight design, straight character lines and wide stance were penned at JAC Motors' design centre in Italy. Standard features include fog lamps, electrically adjustable mirrors with integrated indicator lights, running boards and a style bar.
The T6 features two airbags, as well as ABS with EBD. A rear-view parking camera, rear parking sensors and speed-sensing auto door locks are standard equipment for added safety and convenience.
The T6's comfortable cabin is fitted with a stylish interior that results in a relaxing driving experience. Standard fitments include power steering, a height-adjustable leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, air-conditioning and electric windows.
The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an MP3/CD player and Bluetooth, a 12-Volt power socket, and a USB port neatly placed in the centre console with a closing lid ensure that you are connected wherever you work or lifestyle activities take you.
Pricing, warranty and service plan information
The official retail price of the T6 1.9L TDi Comfort is R332 400, which includes a standard 5-year/150 000 km manufacturer's warranty and a 5-year/60 000 km service plan. The first service takes place at 5 000 km/3-months, and the second is scheduled at 15 000 km/12-months. Regular 10 000 km/12-months service intervals are scheduled after the 20 000 km service.
"At just over the R300 000 mark, the T6 enables us to extend our product offering to a broader group of prospective double-cab buyers. A local manufacturer's decision to seize production of their locally produced one-tonne workhorses has prompted us to extend the T6 range with the popular 2.0-litre petrol derivative that will retail for less than R300 000," concludes Göbel.
The T6 is available in a choice of six colours from more than 50 dealers countrywide. A range of accessories is available to customise the T6 double-cab bakkie as a workhorse- or a lifestyle partner.
Ends.
