The classic Cadillac will be joined on the red carpet at Knokke-Heist by a 1960s Maserati, first appearing in a Fellini film and formerly owned by the Saudi Prince Sultan Bin Saoud.

 



1954 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible ‘State Limousine’, estimate € 70,000 - 90,000


The 1954 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible ‘State Limousine’, (€ 70,000 - 90,000) was delivered new to the Belgian royal family in 1954 with unique features including the split front bench, handle on the windscreen pillar and a Plexiglas removable roof 'Bubble top' by Duchatelet.




Belonging to King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola, it famously served as the Royal couple’s wedding car in December 1960 and thereafter participated in many more state occasions. The current owner oversaw a professional restoration by specialists L'Atelier Des Coteaux in France.
 



1964 Maserati 3.5-Litre Mistral Spyder, estimate €350,000 – 400,000


HRH Prince Sultan Bin Saoud was the second owner of the 1964 Maserati 3.5-Litre Mistral Spyder (estimate €350,000 – 400,000), which had previously starred in the Fellini film Giulietta degli Spiriti (Juliet of the Spirits). This car was the third of 27 Pietro Frua-styled Mistral Spyders produced with the 3.5-litre engine and the last of the classic six-cylinder Maseratis.



Following its film role, it was sold in 1965, the Maserati agent in Athens, Greece to HRH Prince Sultan Bin Saoud. Later, the Maserati somehow ended up in Beirut, Lebanon, changing hands several times before being damaged in the civil war of 1975. In 1988 the matching numbers car was rescued by the vendor and since then has undergone an extensive two-stage restoration.

A time-warp one owner example of Ferrari’s 40th anniversary supercar, ordered new from Garage Francorchamps. Dry-stored since 1992, this outstandingly original F40 has covered fewer than 1,800 kilometres from new.

Lancia B24S Spider America, coachwork by Pinin Farina, estimate €800,000 – 1,000,000. Launched at the Brussels Motor Show in 1955, the B24 was the ultimate Aurelia, recognised as one of Pinin Farina’s most beautiful designs. Produced for one year only, a total of 240 were made, of which this example is one of 181 left-hand drive cars. Professionally restored to original specification, this car is fitted with the desirable hardtop and a very rare original type 'Condor Electronic' radio and is offered from long-term ownership.

1969 Ferrari 365 GTC, estimate €600,000 - 700,000, considered one of the marque’s finest all-rounder grand tourers. One of 168 produced, this GTC is offered for the first time at auction - or indeed on the open market - as it has had just one Italian family owner from new.

1994 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, estimate €2,000,000-2,500,000. One of only 30 examples built.



The Zoute Salewill be a traditional live auction, held in accordance with local government COVID-19 guidelines, with bids accepted from the sale room, in addition to online telephone and absentee bids.



Entry to the sale is by ticket to the Zoute Grand Prix of which The Zoute Sale is an integral feature; potential bidders are requested to register in advance to ensure their place. The auction will also be streamed live and will offer enhanced video content of the lots.



Pre-sale viewing will take place from Thursday 7 until Saturday 9 October, from 11.00 – 18.00, and on Sunday 10 October from 09.00 until 12.00. The auction starts at 14.00.
