The Classic Car Boot Sale will be returning to King's Cross on 15-16 April 2023, transforming Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard into a sustainable shopper’s paradise - as always, set against a backdrop of magnificent and rare classic vehicles. Expect spectacular pre-1990 vehicles from cars, campervans, hot rods, scooters and caravans to classic motorbikes, custom bicycles and much more.

An event for incredible preloved fashion, open from 10am to 6pm each day, visitors can surround themselves with thrifty Depoppers, fabulous fashionistas and the best-dressed vintage crowd in town whilst shopping, eating and dancing the weekend away. Looking to bag a bargain or find some unique second-hand goodies, then this is the place!

A must-see at this year’s event will be the 1972 Mercedes W114, previously owned by Paul Weller from The Jam, which will be on display for the first time ever at The Classic Car Boot Sale – one for the Modfather devotees! Paul’s hit songs ‘Driving Nowhere’ and ‘All On A Misty Morning’ were penned in the midnight blue car which he also autographed for its current owner.

To honour the legacy of Tom Karen OBE, one of Britain’s most original industrial designers, The Classic Car Boot Sale will be remembering his colourful, headline-stealing designs with a special area dedicated to his mass market classics. These include Reliant Robins, Raleigh Chopper bikes, Bond Bugs and the Reliant Scimitar GTE – these vehicles caught the spirit of their age and are sure to be one of the most Instagrammable sights at the event.

There are further surprises to be had at the two-day event: expect the largest Charity Super.Mkt zone The Classic Car Boot Sale has ever seen, a repair shop with experts on hand and a Museum of Youth Culture pop-up ‘studio’.

Charity Super.Mkt

Before heading off on a nationwide road show, Charity Super.Mkt will return home to King’s Cross - the place where it all started. A range of fantastic charities will be joining in the fun, where shoppers can select pieces from the best vintage edits from charities including All Aboard, Shelter, Cancer Research, Spitalfields Crypt Trust, Vision Foundation, St Joseph Hospice, Isabel Hospice, Age UK, Havens Hospices, TRAID and Shop from Crisis.

Repair Shop

The Classic Car Boot Sale’s own experts will be offering advice to fix up a beloved vintage garment or new purchase with minor issues, as well as a range of workshops and drop-in sessions giving insight into the best sewing hacks and cool tailoring over the weekend. Workshops are bookable in advance.

Museum of Youth Culture Studio

Visitors will also have a unique opportunity to become part of a youth culture archive at the Museum of Youth Culture’s pop-up studio. Participants are encouraged to bring clothes, vintage objects and photographs that tell a story about being young. These will be photographed and scanned into the archive’s permanent collection and digitised for the future.

Wayne Hemingway, founder of HemingwayDesign and co-founder of The Classic Car Boot Sale, said: “The Classic Car Boot Sale has become a firm fixture for design and culture lovers and it attracts a hugely diverse crowd of all ages. It’s affordable and sociable, and its focus on the circular economy continues to keep it relevant.

Where better to hang out at the weekend than The Classic Car Boot Sale in King’s Cross, where you can listen to great DJ’s, check out the unique vehicles and shop all your vintage favourites. Plus, we’re super excited to see Paul Weller’s former car here this year and to be paying homage to the legend that is Tom Karen OBE!”

The Classic Car Boot Sale would not be complete without London’s hottest club scene and DJ collectives making an appearance, all spinning the sharpest, vinyl floor fillers from the Routemaster bus bar.
