Kein Müll landet mehr ungenutzt auf der Deponie

 

In Industrie- und Büroabfällen stecken jede Menge wiederverwertbare Rohstoffe sowie thermische Energie, welche für die Stromerzeugung oder zum Heizen verwendet werden kann. Reifenhersteller YOKOHAMA möchte deshalb in all seinen Werken das Entstehen von ungenutzten Deponieabfällen zum Wohle der Umwelt vermeiden. Im November ist dies dem Hersteller auch bei der thailändischen YOKOHAMA Tire Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TRYT) gelungen, wo PKW-, LKW- und Busreifen hergestellt werden.

Der Standort ist das fünfte Auslandswerk des Unternehmens, das nach dem „complete zero emissions“-Standard arbeitet – in Japan ist dies bereits seit März 2006 bei allen acht Anlagen der Fall. Bis Ende  März 2012 sollen auch jenseits der Heimatgrenzen alle 15 Fabriken entsprechend umgestellt sein – momentan ist dies bei YOKOHAMA  Tire Philippines und den chinesischen Werken Hangzhou YOKOHAMA Tire Co. Ltd., YOKOHAMA HAMATITE (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd. sowie YOKOHAMA Hoses & Coupling (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd. der Fall.

Die Umsetzung des Programms wird von YOKOHAMA im Rahmen seines mittelfristigen Managementplans Grand Design 100 mit Vehemenz vorangetrieben. Es ist genau ein Jahr her, dass TRYT die Vorstufe „zero emissions“ erreichte, welche nur noch Deponieabfälle in Höhe von 1% erlaubt.

Damit war das Werk in Thailand der erste Auslandsstandort von YOKOHAMA, welcher diese Voraussetzung erfüllte. Infolge wurden weitere Fortschritte bei der Entsorgung von Elektroteilen, Batterien etc. erzielt, welche zwar nur einen kleinen Teil der Abfallmenge ausmachten, jedoch auf Sondermülldeponien entsorgt werden mussten. Dies gehört nun der Vergangenheit an. Um einen ordnungsgemäßen Ablauf seitens der Entsorger zu gewährleisten, wurden alle beteiligten Fremdunternehmen eingehend geprüft.

 Im nächsten Step möchte YOKOHAMA in Thailand beim Industriemüll eine Recyclingquote von 100% etablieren, wie es in Japan bereits seit März 2010 durchgehend der Fall ist. Mit diesen und vielen weiteren Maßnahmen strebt das Unternehmen in seinem Segment eine internationale Spitzenstellung beim Umweltschutz an.
