Samedi 11 février à Strasbourg, Antonin Guy et Xavier Degon ont pris le départ de leur ‘Odyssée Electrique’ à bord d’une CITROËN C-ZERO. 80 ans après l’arrivée à Pékin des autochenilles de la Croisière Jaune organisée par André CITROËN, la Marque accompagne un nouveau défi technologique et humain avec ce premier tour du monde en voiture électrique de série.
A la clé : 25 000 km, 8 mois, 17 pays traversés, plus de 300 recharges et autant de rencontres avec les locaux pour emprunter leur prise de mois de préparatifs, Antonin Guy et Xavier Degon, entourés de leurs proches, des différents partenaires du projet et de nombreux journalistes, ont pris le départ de leur Odyssée Electrique, depuis la Place Kléber à Strasbourg.
Nicole Ithier, directrice régionale Nord-Est de CITROËN, a remis aux deux coéquipiers la clé de leur CITROËN C-ZERO, véritable porte-étendard de leur aventure ! Evoquant l’arrivée de la Croisière Jaune il y a 80 ans, le 12 février 1932, Nicole Ithier n’a pas manqué de rappeler que l’esprit d’audace et d’aventure est inscrit dans les gènes de la Marque, avant de souhaiter une bonne route aux deux jeunes ingénieurs.
Par le biais de ce tour du monde, les deux aventuriers entendent promouvoir l’usage du véhicule électrique auprès du grand public.
Les premiers pays traversés par l’Odyssée Electrique seront la Belgique (rendez-vous le jeudi 16 février à 16h00 à l’Atomium et à 17h00 chez Citroën Belux à la Place de l’Yser) et les Pays-Bas, où de nombreux candidats « pluggers » ont déjà proposé de prêter leur prise de courant sur le site internet www.electric-odyssey.com.
