CeBIT 2007, 15 March to 21 March

Public Sector Parc has been a key component of the CeBIT portfolio for years, providing new impetus for innovative management. Launched 20 years ago, it has long since become a central information and communication platform for the modernization and management of administration. This achievement is also due to its ongoing and strategic development. New links with leading municipal associations and groups, trade associations, and media partners help to create an ideal communications and information platform for the public sector in Public Sector Parc, Hall 9.

In 2007, CeBIT will be focusing especially closely on visitors from municipal authorities and will be unveiling the first ever 'municipal marketplace'. This special area, located at the heart of Public Sector Parc, will create a professional atmosphere for CeBIT exhibitors and visitors specializing in municipal software solutions and services.

'Digital administration' has become synonymous with vastly improved service levels among public authorities. Public Sector Parc comprehensively showcases the wide-ranging IT portfolio available for the public sector - from innovative office software to improved IT security. Collaborative projects between industry and public administrators are also developing into a core element of modern administration. eHealth and geoinformation management provide convincing evidence of this development,' explains Ernst Raue, Member of the Board of Deutsche Messe AG.

The growth area of geoinformation management is to be represented at CeBIT 2007 by an extended special presentation in Public Sector Parc. Alongside a group pavilion for the geoinformation industry, there will also be numerous individual exhibitors presenting practical applications, from the provision and processing of data and its processing, to data integration in corporate infrastructures. Exhibitions on current geomarketing applications will provide visitors with cross-sector opportunities and potential for utilizing geoinformation.

Topics related to eHealth and telemedicine will be covered in depth and with an emphasis on practical applications in the 'eHealth Area' of Public Sector Parc. Individual exhibition areas and group pavilions will host leading companies presenting trends and solutions that will enable practices, pharmacies, clinics, and health insurance funds to work together more efficiently.

The accompanying forum in Public Sector Parc will enable exhibitors and visitors to discuss the requirements of modern public services. A new topic will be explored on each day of the trade fair, for example 'Municipal Authorities Day', 'Federal Government and Regions Day', 'Healthcare Day', and 'Open Source and comtemporary solutions'. The basic framework for the presentation portfolio is made up of innovative solutions, practical applications and cost-effective IT infrastructures in the federal, regional, and municipal authorities.

These include, in particular, practical eGovernment solutions for communicating with citizens and companies, the optimization of internal administrative processes using innovative procedures, and IT infrastructures and hardware. The daily program of presentations will be based on user reports from exhibiting companies, which will help visitors with concrete investment plans make decisions. Lectures given by experts from public-sector and scientific backgrounds will provide valuable additional input.

Exhibitors in Public Sector Parc will cover topics including eGovernment and mGovernment solutions, document management solutions, municipal finance management, parliamentary/local authority information systems, security/systems for digital signatures, ePayment, eProcurement, biometrics, human resources management, CRM (citizen relation management), outsourcing, eLearning, facility management, web services, and Open Source. Organized themed tours through Public Sector Parc complete the portfolio, helping to establish and build contacts with exhibitors.

Each year, some 200 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors from city, municipal, and regional authorities, central government, and EU member states come together on 11,000 square meters of exhibition and forum space. Moreover, 80 percent of these visitors are involved in investment decisions. In 2007, the patron of the event will once again be the German Federal Minister of the Interior.
