Middle East’s largest Arabian equestrian event provides a lucrative trade platform for the multi-billion dollar equine industry, catering to owners, breeders, stables, clubs, veterinarians and both professional and leisure riders



Held March 21st to 23rd at Dubai World Trade Centre, show promises family fun and entertainment and will feature equestrian an performance by Dubai Police, pony jumping show for youngsters, Spanish horse “ballet”, equestrian art gallery, horse auction and more





The global equine industry, horse riders and fans of equestrian sports are making tracks to attend the 15th Dubai International Horse Fair and 16th Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, which get underway tomorrow (Thursday, 21st March). Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, the events run until 23rd March at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).



As the region’s largest trade platform for the equine sector, the Dubai International Horse Fair will bring together leading equestrian equipment companies, owners, breeders, stables, clubs, veterinarians, services and care products, all serving the needs of both professional and leisure riders, and wider horse enthusiasts. 



The event will also provide a fun weekend outing for families and the general public, featuring pony racing by Al Dhabi, interactive sessions guiding on animal maintenance, an equestrian-themed art gallery, unique displays by world-renowned trainer Miguel Duarte, live equestrian performances, the event’s annual Horse Auction for Arabian Purebred Horses (Thursday, 21st March), and a rare performance by the Dubai Police band and their canine patrol – plus the force’s own exhilarating horseback tent-pegging contest.



The Emirates Falconers Club will make their debut appearance at the Dubai International Horse Fair with a showcase of their unique breed of falcons, hosting live hunting sessions and sharing expertise on the rich history of the Falcon and its special place in Emirati culture. Also joining the Fair for the first time will be the Arabian Saluki Centre and some of their most prized Saluki hunting dogs, where the focus will be on the art of hunting with these beautiful creatures who – unlike most canine breeds – rely on sight rather than scent to track their prey at an incredibly fast pace.



Continuing the theme of speed, and Lamborghini – who are the official Car Sponsor of the show – will be on site unveiling their new Urus model; the world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle (SSUV). The SSUV is guaranteed to turn heads whilst towing a horse trailer through the show!



For 2019, equine healthcare will take centre-stage at the Dubai International Horse Fair, with innovative products ranging from cutting edge portable medical laser light therapy devices to tailored individual lighting for the wellbeing of horses amongst some of the products being exhibited in the region for the first time.



The Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, which takes place alongside the Dubai International Horse Fair, is the most prestigious beauty competition for Purebred Arabian horses, from the very young to the elderly statesmen of the Arabian equine world. With prize money of US $4million (AED15 million) up for grabs, the Championship is set to attract strong attendance from equestrian enthusiasts worldwide, and will run over the full three days, culminating with the Championship classes for the most exquisite horses.



The show’s open-to-all Equine Conference will also take place, covering many interesting topics and led by stand-out industry experts



More than 10,000 buyers, professionals, breeders and enthusiasts from over 25 countries will attend this year’s Fair with the ambition to widen their global networks with the 200+ brands and companies participating. Countries exhibiting at the show for the first time this year include Serbia, China, Lebanon Malaysia, Serbia and Turkey.



The Dubai International Horse Fair 2019 – for which Meraas is the platinum sponsor – will be held in Za’abeel Halls 5 and 6 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Opening hours are 10am - 8pm on 21st March, 2pm – 8pm on 22nd March and 11 am – 8 pm on 23rd March. Admission is free of charge and open to trade visitors and the general public. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
