Die Formel 1 fährt im Wiener Museumsquartier!

Alle Motorsportfans, für die der Formel 1 Grand Prix von Österreich in Spielberg zu weit weg, zu teuer oder einfach zu altmodisch ist, der sollte sich den 6. Juli dick im Kalender anstreichen. Denn an diesem Tag steigt DAS Highlight der virtuellen Formel 1 als Live Event in der Arena 21 mitten im Wiener Museumsquartier!



„Virtuelle Sportarten, sogenannte eSports, haben in den letzten Jahren enorm an Popularität gewonnen. Die Zeiten, in denen Jugendliche alleine zu Hause vor ihrem PC sitzen und zocken sind lange vorbei. Heutzutage verfolgen Hundertausende Fans die Rennen live vor Ort auf gigantischen Screens oder via Youtube auf der ganzen Welt. Daher freue ich mich riesig, dass wir es geschafft haben, das Finale und alle Fahrer mitten nach Wien zu holen“, schwärmt Ligapromoter Harry Miltner.



„Der Eintritt zu den Rennen ist frei, daher rechnen wir mit einem guten Zuschauerinteresse. Das Formelaustria eF1 Championship bietet nicht nur fast alles, was die analoge Formel 1 hat, die Rennen sind auch spannender, weil alle Autos gleich stark sind, die Überholmanöver waghalsiger, und wir haben einen Österreicher auf Titelkurs“, so der Managing Director von HM Sports weiter.



2.500 Fahrer hatten sich beworben. Die besten 20 treten beim Formelaustria eF1 Championship auf der PS4 in sieben Läufen in der Simulation „F1 2018“ auf den spektakulärsten Strecken der Welt gegeneinander an. Der Sieger der von der Sim Motorsport Association offiziell homologierten Serie bekommt eine Wildcard für die Tryouts der F1 eSports Series. Beste Chancen darauf hat der derzeit in der Fahrerwertung führende Innsbrucker Dominik Hofmann.




„Ich bin seit meiner Kindheit verrückt nach Motorsport, fahre in meiner Freizeit auch Kartrennen. Die eF1 Championship Rennen sind vor mental, aber auch körperlich unglaublich fordernd und es braucht auch eine ausgeprägte Hand-Augen-Koordination. Ich freue mich schon riesig aufs „Finale dahoam“!“



„Aufgrund des umfangreichen Selektionsprozesses waren wir überzeugt, dass unsere Fahrer auf Topniveau unterwegs sind. Fünf von ihnen wurden bereits von Profiteams wie Williams oder McLaren verpflichtet“, so Miltner. Seine austro-britische Sportconsultingagentur HM Sports ist seit 15 Jahren für zahlreiche Rennteams, Strecken und Sponsoren in der Formel 1 tätig. „Daher war es für uns der logische Schritt, wenn wir etwas im eSports machen, kann es nur das eF1 Championship sein.“



Das Formelaustria eF1 Championship wird von Profi-Kommentatoren der eSport-Szene begleitet und live auf YouTube Formelaustria übertragen. Die nächsten Termine sind am 15. Juni in Monza (Italien) und dann das Finale am 6. Juli am Red Bull Ring Spielberg (Österreich), das live in der Arena 21 im Wiener Museumsquartier ausgetragen wird. Der Eintritt ist frei!
