JD Motorsport's Chris van der Drift continued his free practice form in today's second session by setting the fastest time of 1:48.011.
Iris Project's Michael Ammermüller posted the second best time with a lap of 1:48.476 whilst Fabio Leimer, driving for Jenzer Motorsport, set the third fastest lap of the session (1:48.606).

This morning's Formula Master free practice session in Brno, Czech Republic, saw JD Motorsport's Chris van der Drift set the fastest time with a best lap of 1:48.427.
Iris Project's Michael Ammermüller posted the morning's second fastest time, 1:49.080, whilst Yuhi Sekiguchi's best lap of 1:49.309 earned him third fastest for Euronova Racing.

Posting his time during the afternoon session, the New Zealand-born Dutchman was 0.338 ahead of second best Michael Ammermüller, driving for Iris Project.

Russian win in Pau

Russian driver Sergey Afanasiev claimed his maiden Formula Master race win today in wet weather conditions in Pau, France, after 22 thrilling laps for round three of the Series.
The JD Motorsport rookie started the race in second place behind team-mate Chris van der Drift and was promoted to the lead when van der Drift hit the barriers and retired on lap six.

Trident Racing succesfully completed yesterday the first day of testing at Valencia, where the series is set to start its 2008 season on the next weekend. All the scheduled work was completed despite some inconveniences that slowed the run of Harald Schlegelmilch. As the 2008 Formula Master racing season is set to get underway at Valencia on 17-18 May, the grid has now been confirmed with 30 cars and 16 nations represented by the Series' drivers.
With little over a week to go, new drivers have also been confirmed. Returning from 2007, vice-champion Chris van der Drift will drive for J.D. Motorsport once more.
