Race 2 19th

GP2 Series Starting from ninth, UAE driver Andreas Zuber finished the second Turkish race in 19th after being caught up in an accident. Davide Valsecchi's car ran straight into Andreas after colliding with Filippi. Andreas could not do anything and lost forty seconds recovering. Luckily Andreas was able to restart as his car was not too badly damaged, but faced a mountain to climb back through the field.

"I am disappointed because I have always scored points on this track and I like it here," Andreas said. "Today, I could not progress and I have kept my eight points in the championship and still only rank ninth."

Andreas progressed during the free practice session at Istanbul and improved consistently during the 30-minute session, finishing fifth. In qualifying Andreas was just as competitive and started Saturday's first race from the third row in sixth place (1.34.922). Andreas drove most of race 1 in third position but suffered from a slow puncture on his right front tyre and finished the race in tenth position.

At the end of race 2, Andreas explained
, "I started from ninth and finished 19th. Of course, I am disappointed with the results. I was hoping for the podium and dreaming of a third consecutive race with points for race 1. In the end, I started race two from ninth position. But I was involved in an accident with Valsecchi who came from nowhere and hit me after he collided with Filippi and I lost a lot of time.

But at least, the positive side is that I was able to show my team that nothing could stop me and I finished the race pushing hard. Let's look ahead to Silverstone. It is not a new Grand Prix for me and I am more determined than ever to finish on the podium. Silverstone is a quick track, so strategy is important and with FMSI we will work hard for good race results."
