Mario Dominguez - ABC Supply/A.J. Foyt 225 The Milwaukee Mile Qualifying

01.06.2008: Mario Dominguez - ABC Supply/A.J. Foyt 225 The Milwaukee Mile Qualifying

MARIO DOMINGUEZ, #96 PCM/Cosworth/Bridgestone

Practice 1 26th 0:23.4813 155.613 61

Practice 2 12th 0:23.566 155.053 27

Qualifying 25th 1:37.39 150.071

Mario on qualifying: "We are learning about the car. It is very difficult to make a lot of progress without much practice time. We just have to be patient, it is not a one-day thing and we will keep improving. For us right now, it is not really about the position we are in, but more about gaining the experience of track time. But, obviously today the car is not where we want it.

I am really looking forward to the race tomorrow. It will be great for me and for the team to get back into race mode, strategy and pitstops. Finishing the race is the most important thing right now, so we can get as many laps as possible in changing conditions to learn about the cars behavior."

Mario’s Mexico City Travel Tip: "I recommend to everyone who visits Mexico City, to take a walk through La Condesa. It is an eclectic neighborhood, very similar to Soho in New York, with lots of cafes, bars, clubs and restaurants. On the weekend, you will find many artists on the streets selling their work. You will find many unique home decorating stores, also unique clothing boutiques.

I always stop at Contramar for a traditional seafood meal Mexican style. Their food is terrific. After, stop by the Cantina al Centenario for a drink, which is in the center of La Condesa - where all the action is.

It is the oldest cantina in La Condesa. If you want to stay in the area, stay at Condesa D.F. This is a great place to stay or even to just stop by for a coffee."

*Mario is Mexico City’s official tourism ambassador.
