Japanese looking forward to GB3 challenge after team and series début at Donington last October



Japan’s Ayato Iwasaki will remain with Elite Motorsport for a full maiden GB3 campaign this year having made his début in the GB3 finale last October with the Norfolk squad.
 


Ayato posted a sixth place finish in the final race at Donington Park, his first-ever car event in Europe, finishing less than four seconds behind the race winner.
 


Iwasaki, who contested three Formula Regional Middle East Championship races in Kuwait earlier this year, has since tested at Valencia and MotorLand Aragón in readiness for the season.
 


He made his car racing debut in the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship at Yas Marina and also contested two Japanese F4 Championship events last year.
 


Ayato joins previously announced McKenzy Cresswell while Elite expects to announce a third driver for the series in the coming weeks.
 


* The Tatuus MSV-022 GB3 car is powered by a two litre, four cylinder normally aspirated Mountune engine, producing over 250bhp.
