15.12.2009: The FIA International Karting Commission (CIK-FIA) celebrated the season’s Champion Drivers in a dignified way on Saturday 12 December 2009 in Monaco, the day after the FIA Prize-Giving.

The FIA International Karting Commission (CIK-FIA) celebrated the season’s Champion Drivers in a dignified way on Saturday 12 December 2009 in Monaco, the day after the FIA Prize-Giving.
On Friday evening, before the 600 guests gathered for the ceremony organised by the FIA, the kartmen opened the trophy-awarding by carrying out a “running karts” demonstration on the very stage of the Salle des Étoiles in Monte-Carlo! After their ballet of pirouettes on the stage, the 2009 CIK-FIA World Champion, Arnaud Kozlinski, and his two runner-ups Aaro Vainio and Ben Hanley, also accompanied by Olivier Maréchal (manager of the Kosmic team which won the World Cup for Teams), received their prestigious FIA trophies and were the first to make the flashes go off. All the motor sport Champions honoured by the FIA came after, obviously including the three other World Champions of this season, Sébastien Loeb (Rallies), Gabriele Tarquini (WTCC) and Jenson Button (Formula 1).
On the following day, the award winners of the 2009 CIK-FIA Karting season received their trophies from the hands of the CIK-FIA President, Nicolas Deschaux, who, to honour the Champions, was successively joined by several members of the CIK Commission and of the World Motor Sport Council, as well as by the FIA President, Jean Todt.
Every Champion Driver of the 2009 season was rewarded, and very hearty applause in particular greeted the stepping to the stage of the World Champion, France’s Arnaud Kozlinski, but also of his runner-up, the Finn Aaro Vainio, who was the only one to be called to the limelight twice, once for his European Super KF Champion title and once for his Vice-World Champion one.
Also rewarded in Monaco were Giuliano Maria Niceta (World Cup for KF3), Nyck De Vries (European KF3 Champion), Jordan King (Asia-Pacific KF3 Champion), Carlos Sainz Jr (KF3 Monaco Kart Cup), David Da Luz (World Cup for KF2), Felice Tiene (Asia-Pacific KF2 Champion), Jordan Chamberlain (European KF2 Champion), Yannick de Brabander (World Cup for Super KF), Olivier Maréchal (of Kosmic, winner of the World Cup for Teams), Jonathan Thonon (World Cup for KZ1), Bas Lammers (European KZ1 Champion), Angelo Lombardo (European KZ2 Champion), Anthony Abbasse (KZ2 Monaco Kart Cup), Andreas Fasberg (KZ2 Viking Trophy), Gavin Bennett (European Superkart Champion) and Ben Hanley, the third classified Driver in the World Championship.
Finally, further to a vote of the people gathered for this Prize-Giving, the 3rd CIK-FIA International Karting Photo Contest was won by the Belgian-Spanish Grégory Heirman, of Foto Formula K.

LES "AWARDS" 2009 DE LA CIK-FIA
La Commission Internationale de Karting de la FIA (CIK-FIA) a dignement fêté ses Pilotes Champions de la saison le samedi 12 décembre 2009 à Monaco, au lendemain de la soirée de Gala de la FIA.
Le vendredi soir, face aux 600 invités réunis lors du Gala FIA, les kartmen ont ouvert la cérémonie de remise des trophées, en effectuant une démonstration « karts en marche » sur la scène de la Salle des Étoiles de Monte-Carlo ! Après s’être livrés à leur ballet de pirouettes sur scène, le Champion du Monde CIK-FIA 2009 Arnaud Kozlinski et ses dauphins Aaro Vainio et Ben Hanley, également accompagnés d’Olivier Maréchal (team-manager de Kosmic, gagnante de la Coupe du Monde par Équipes), ont reçu leurs prestigieux trophées FIA et ont été les premiers à faire crépiter les flashes. Tous les Champions automobiles honorés par la FIA ont suivi, dont évidemment les trois autres Champions du Monde de la saison écoulée, Sébastien Loeb (Rallyes), Gabriele Tarquini (WTCC) et Jenson Button (Formule 1).
Le lendemain, les lauréats de la saison CIK-FIA 2009 de Karting ont reçu leur trophée des mains du Président de la CIK-FIA, Nicolas Deschaux, lequel a été successivement accompagné pour honorer les Champions par plusieurs membres de la Commission CIK et du Conseil Mondial du Sport Automobile, ainsi que par le Président de la FIA, Jean Todt.
Tous les Pilotes Champions de la saison 2009 ont été récompensés et des applaudissements très nourris ont notamment salué la montée sur scène du Champion du Monde, le Français Arnaud Kozlinski, mais aussi de son dauphin, le Finlandais Aaro Vainio, qui fut le seul à être appelé à deux reprises sous les projecteurs, une première fois pour son titre de Champion d’Europe en Super KF, une seconde fois pour son titre de Vice-Champion du Monde.
Ont également retiré leur trophée à Monaco : Giuliano Maria Niceta (Coupe du Monde de KF3), Nyck De Vries (Champion d’Europe de KF3), Jordan King (Champion Asie-Pacifique de KF3), Carlos Sainz Jr (Monaco Kart Cup de KF3), David Da Luz (Coupe du Monde de KF2), Felice Tiene (Champion Asie-Pacifique de KF2), Jordan Chamberlain (Champion d’Europe de KF2), Yannick de Brabander (Coupe du Monde de Super KF), Olivier Maréchal (de Kosmic, Coupe du Monde par Équipes), Jonathan Thonon (Coupe du Monde de KZ1), Bas Lammers (Champion d’Europe de KZ1), Angelo Lombardo (Champion d’Europe de KZ2), Anthony Abbasse (Monaco Kart Cup de KZ2), Andreas Fasberg (Viking Trophy de KZ2), Gavin Bennett (Champion d’Europe de Superkart) et Ben Hanley, le troisième classé au Championnat du Monde.
Enfin, à la suite d’un vote par l’assemblée réunie lors cette Remise des Prix, le 3e Concours International des Photographes de Karting a été remporté par le Belgo-espagnol Grégory Heirman, de Foto Formula K.
