Fourth consecutive participation at German tourism exhibition for expanding UAE hotel chain; focus on growth of inbound visitors from Germany
UAE-headquartered hospitality company TI’ME Hotels Management is returning to ITB Berlin for the fourth consecutive year as it launches a new strategic focus to target outbound business from Germany.
Taking place in Berlin, Germany from 6-10 March 2013, TI’ME will exhibit on the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) stand, with representatives from each of the group’s six UAE-based properties looking forward to a busy week of appointments with international travel agents and key buyers.
According to the DTCM over 280,000 Germans visited Dubai in 2010. In the first nine months of 2012, the numbers of German visitors rose by 23% when compared with the same period in 2011. It is a similar story in Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates. In 2012 German visitors to Abu Dhabi rose 42% to 96,800 and in Ras Al Khaimah 295,000 Germans visited spending in excess of $23 million last year.
“After the British, Germans are the second highest European source market for the UAE tourism sector and, according to DTCM, leisure travellers who book through Germany’s leading tour operators spend an average of up to 10 days in the emirate, attracted by quality-driven hotels, high levels of comfort and a welcoming environment,” said Mohamed Awadalla, Vice President, TI’ME Hotels Management.
“The recent announcement of the US$1.6 billion Bluewaters Island project, off the Jumeirah coastline, has made headlines across Germany and we expect this – and other developments – to be a major talking point at ITB this week, with several of our travel partners eager to discuss new room quotas as these projects come to life,” added Awadalla.
TI’ME Hotels is located at the DTCM Stand: Hall 22a, Stand 20
