Hertz offers 20% discount along with guaranteed make and model for customers booking car rentals in April for outbound holidays

Hertz Car Rental is advising GCC residents travelling overseas this summer for extended periods to book their car rentals well in advance in order to receive a 20% discount as well as avoid a last minute reservation rush.


Running the full month of April 2013, the Hertz Summer Promotion is aimed at GCC-based travellers requiring large family vehicles and SUVs – and in particular the Hertz Prestige Collection with brands such as Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes – for their long term rentals.


According to research that was presented during Arabian Travel Market 2012, GCC Nationals spend on average US$2,812 per day when travelling overseas, while families as large as four to 12 make one big trip per year, anywhere from 14 to 56 days, typically during the hotter summer months.


Sunita Gomes, Commercial Director of Hertz Middle East & Africa, said that the majority of these families require their own rental cars, yet with a peak in demand expected for larger vehicles during the summer months in popular tourist destinations, customers are advised to book early and guarantee their preferred vehicle.


“With the hot summer months fast approaching, many GCC Nationals will soon be packing their bags and getting ready to stay for several weeks in popular destinations in Europe and the USA, yet frequently they leave their summer travel plans including car rental bookings right till the last moment,” said Gomes.


“If customers book their cars with Hertz early during April, not only will they receive a 20 per cent discount on the most sought after Hertz cars, but we will also guarantee that the make and model of the car reserved is what they drive when they arrive at their destination.


Hertz customers in the GCC requiring a rental car in USA or Europe can do so by booking online at or by calling the dedicated 24/7 Hertz Customer Call Centre, offering a quick and seamless service to book the vehicle of their choice.


Travellers booking with Hertz can also earn Frequent Flyer Miles from Hertz global airline partners, including Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Gulf Air FalconFlyer, Saudi Alfursan, and Turkish Airways Miles&Smiles. 


The 20% discount is available at participating Hertz locations worldwide, and applies to time and mileage (base rental charges) and all mandatory insurance and waivers that may be included in the base rental charge.


The world’s largest general use car rental company is offering the special summer early bird offer for Middle East customers for car rentals with a minimum keep of seven days. The 20% discount applies for all bookings made from 1-30 April for vehicle pick up between 1 May-30 August, 2013.
