Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official dealer for Audi in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has hosted one of amateur golf’s most prominent tournaments, the Audi quattro Cup, giving local golfers a chance to progress to the World Final in Los Angeles, California.


Held for the first time at the prestigious Els Club in Dubai Sports City on Thursday (11 April), the tournament featured more than 100 invited players, with the first prize going to Darren King and Dean Cheesley and the second place to Sharon Hall and Ronan Hall, after a hard fought battle on the challenging course.


The winning team will now go on to compete against the winners of the Abu Dhabi tournament, before the overall UAE winners are sent to the world renowned Trump National Golf Course in Los Angeles.


“This is always such a great day out for our team, our customers and our guests,” said Ali Al Nabooda, General Manager Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles.  “There is a lot at stake for the players, but the focus is always on having fun and building up some friendly rivalry.


“I have passed on heartfelt congratulations to our winners today, and wish them the very best against their Abu Dhabi counterparts. I hope Dubai will be well represented in LA come October at the Trump course.”


The Audi quattro Cup has gained major popularity since its launch in 1991. More than 95,000 amateur golfers are participating worldwide this year in what is expected to be the largest series yet, with 52 countries holding 808 tournaments.
