Huge new AED133m Audi workshop to follow AED144m Porsche Dubai showroom as company prepares to open AED120m Sharjah facility

Al Nabooda Automobiles has entered a key phase in a AED900 million investment programme to expand its Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen operations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.


With work now under way on a new AED144 million Porsche showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, a AED120 million facility combining Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshops will open in Sharjah late next month.


Within weeks, construction will start on one of the world’s largest Audi workshops in Dubai at a cost of AED133m, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014.


Also pending final planning approvals, construction will commence soon on a AED256 million vehicle pre-delivery centre and paint and body shop on a massive 130,000 sqm site at Jebel Ali. This is scheduled for completion at the end of 2015.


Meanwhile, an AED85.5m facility combining Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshop is scheduled to open in Fujairah before the end of this year.

UAE-based Al Sahel Construction LLC was awarded a AED90 million contract to build the the new 20,812 sqm Porsche Centre Dubai, scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2014.


Located between intersections two and three, the state-of-the-art facility will be one of the most impressive Porsche showrooms in the world, displaying up to 50 new vehicles on three floors. It will also feature 15 work bays, tyre service and wheel alignment facilities, with parking for 205 vehicles on two basement floors.


“We’ve sold more luxury Porsche vehicles than any other dealer in the world over the last decade, and the new facility will give us a superb platform to maintain our position,” said Mr. K. Rajaram.


The new Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshops in Sharjah are located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near the Golf & Shooting Club. The showrooms will display 13 Porsche, 18 Audi and 17 Volkswagen cars, with the workshop housing 39 vehicle lifts.

With a total built up area of 29,000sqm, the new three-level Audi workshop in Dubai, located close to the Mall of the Emirates, will house 68 vehicle work stations. An adjacent Volkswagen Express workshop will have facilities to service 12 vehicles at any one time.


Overall, the current Al Nabooda Automobiles investment programme covers ten individual projects. The first phase included construction of the world’s largest Audi new car sales terminal which opened in Dubai last November at a cost of AED118.5million.
