His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi has officially inaugurated the new AED85.5 million Al Nabooda Automobiles combined sales and after sales centre for the Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen brands.


H.H. Sheikh Maktoum was received at the official opening ceremony event by H.E. Khalifa Al Nabooda, Chairman of Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group of Companies.  Other dignitaries in attendance included Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi.


Comprising individual Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms, and a combined after sales centre, the state-of-the-art facility will be warmly welcomed by local residents, as it eliminates the need for travel to Dubai for the purchase and servicing of vehicles.


“We are indebted to the authorities in Fujairah for their support and encouragement in bringing this new facility to the emirate,” said Mr K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles, the sole distributor for Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.


“We will deliver consistent, world-class service to back up the arrival of the Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen brands in Fujairah. We will also be looking to establish our new showrooms as platforms for regular events and activities for the benefit of the local community.”

The opening of the new Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen centre, located on the Masafi Road next to the City Hall of Fujairah (Al Halefath) is the latest phase in an AED900 million investment programme by Al Nabooda Automobiles to expand its Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen operations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.


The company will soon open an AED120 million facility combining Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshops in Sharjah.


The new multi-brand Fujairah showroom and after sales centre is built in a modular manner, making it feasible to expand individual facilities if required at a later date.  The entire facility is fully compliant with the corporate identity of the respective brands, including design, signage and equipment, making it truly world class.  The showrooms showcase the latest from the model range of the three brands.


The Porsche showroom will have seven cars on display, Audi 12 cars and Volkswagen 10 cars.  The after sales set up consists of 10 work bays, a wheel alignment facility and an integrated quick repair body shop.  Operating at normal shift, the facility has the capacity to service 900 cars per month and the facility will employ 35 staff members, recruited locally as well as overseas. 


Overall, the current Al Nabooda Automobiles investment programme covers ten individual projects.  The first phase included construction of the world’s largest Audi new car sales terminal which opened in Dubai in November 2012 at a cost of AED118.5million.

Work is now under way on a new AED144 million Porsche showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, and on one of the world’s largest Audi workshops in Dubai at a cost of AED133m, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014.  Also pending final planning approvals, construction will commence soon on an AED256 million vehicle pre-delivery centre and paint and body shop on a massive 130,000sqm site at Jebel Ali.  This is scheduled for completion at the end of 2015.


The new Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshops opening in Sharjah are located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near the Golf & Shooting Club.  The showrooms will display 13 Porsche, 18 Audi and 17 Volkswagen cars, with the workshop housing 39 vehicle lifts.
