Maritime expertise will speed development of five-star resort and residential destination
HE. Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World, and Safi Qurashi, CEO and Founder of Q Group sign the agreement watched by other company representatives.
Q Group today signed an agreement with Drydocks World, the international service provider to the shipping, maritime, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, to provide a complete range of offshore marine and operational management solutions for the developer’s Great Britain island destination on The World project in Dubai.
The Agreement was signed by H.E. Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World, and Safi Qurashi, CEO and Founder of Q Group.
Providing high-end technical and operational support to the development of the Great Britain island’s five-star resort and residential destination, Drydocks World will design, engineer and build total marine-based solutions including the utility solutions.
H.E. Khamis Juma Buamim said: “We’re very happy to be working with Q Group to develop a resort destination which will be a stand out tourist attraction in its own right, and will show investors and other developers that The World project is very much alive and moving forward. Our specialized DDW Global Offshore Services will provide total offshore solutions”

“We have advocated smart solutions that are highly capable, flexible and efficient to meet today’s demanding requirements, and are totally committed to the Government of Dubai’s initiatives to encourage sustainable living.”
Safi Qurashi said: “We are delighted to partner with one of the world’s leading maritime specialists, which is committed to delivering complete solutions to the logistical problems which have been associated with The World project, and have held up development.
“It makes absolute sense that if you are building in maritime conditions that you do so in partnership with the experts. Drydocks World is one of the world’s supreme offshore services companies and has been successfully building on water for years.
“We will be using the latest marine technology developed in Dubai to create high quality living and working conditions.
“Our partnership with Drydocks World intends to provide solution for utilities and allows us to develop the Great Britain island resort and more effectively. We’re confident that this will help drive development and investment for The World project as a whole.”
Q Group is the developer of Great Britain island and will unveil plans for a luxury resort, private villas and water villas, hotel serviced apartments, an event and wedding venue, offshore restaurants and bars, and unique water-based experiences for people of all ages.
Q Group now comprises five companies, with operations extending from real estate brokerage, development, investment, facilities management, access solutions and defence and security. Q Group plans to announce its venture into tourism, hospitality and leisure within next few weeks.
