The Summer Edition of the International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI) will open on Sunday, August 30, with more than 300 Israeli, Belgian, American and Indian companies offering the widest range possible of qualities and quantities of polished diamonds to many hundreds of foreign visitors and to thousands of IDE members.
 

The event is not only the ultimate diamond buying and for visitors from abroad, but also a very important networking opportunity for the local market. Moti Besser, the IDE's General Manager, said that with every new edition of the IDWI, the excitement and expectations among all the organizers and participants was palpable and on the rise.


"This is a huge, unique event that seeks to create added value for everyone who participates in it: manufacturers, traders, service providers, and last but not least, buyers who have come from near and far."
 

  Set with a 60.06 carat fancy intense yellow diamond, the Victoria Collier, a magnificent collier designed by Paris-based Valerie Messika, will be prominently  displayed in the trading hall of the Israel Diamond Exchange at during the Summer Edition of the International Diamond Week in Israel.
 

The Israel Diamond Exchange's logistics team and construction crew are counting the hours until they again turn the IDE diamond trading hall into the largest diamond trading area in the world and a temporary exhibition hall that will accommodate the thousands of traders and visitors who will be on the floor during the five days of the Summer edition of the International Diamond Week in Israel.
 

Besser said: "The IDE will re-open and dedicate the diamond technology service center in the IDE trading hall. In addition, a special 'DiamTech' pavilion will host a number of leading technology and solution providers, such as Sarin, OGI, Triple D, Shirtal DiaCam360, and more.


We are also glad that our sponsor list has become longer than ever before (see banner below), and it offers proof that the IDWI really is a collective effort of the Israel diamond business community at large," he added.
 

Meanwhile, IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer stated: "While our industry is currently going through a rollercoaster experience, we have a full house. Everybody understands how unique and valuable this trading event is". He commented that with each edition of the IDWI, more services are added to the mix.


"During this edition, the exhibiting companies can upload the stocks they are offering onto RapNet. Visitors will be able run searches before stepping on the floor and map out their routes in advance. In other words, we are going from strength to strength."
 

The International Diamond Week in Israel is organized by the Israel Diamond Exchange, in close cooperation with the Diamond Dealers Club of New York (DDC), the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel), and, for the first time, also by the Bharat Diamond Bourse. All exchanges will be represented by delegations of their members on the IDE trading floor at the event.
