Two undergraduate students take up roles at consulting, technology and innovation firm in new work placement scheme

PA Consulting Group has selected two undergraduate students from New York University Abu Dhabi in a new scheme providing work placement opportunities in the firm’s Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices.


The internship programme was developed to identify the brightest talent graduating from respected institutions in the Middle East and is being piloted with the administration from New York University Abu Dhabi following PA’s participation in the University’s careers fair in September. 


Norina Miszori, a final year Bachelor of Arts political science student from Hungary, and Yuhui Dai, an economics major with a finance specialisation and computer science concentration from China were the two successful candidates.


Jason Harborow, Head of PA Consulting Group Middle East and North Africa, said, “The calibre of submissions we received from students at NYUAD for the new internship programme was incredibly high and we were impressed with the number of applicants who showed a real passion for developing a career in consulting.


“The programme has been designed to offer interns an insight into how we find solutions that really work for our clients and how we make the difference.  At PA, we define success as achieving exceptional results that have a lasting impact on businesses, communities and individuals.”


Norina and Yuhui will work alongside the team of consultants in the UAE who provide consulting, technology and innovation services in sectors such as energy, transport and aviation, healthcare and government.


Hazel Raja, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the Career Development Center at New York University Abu Dhabi said, “We partner with organisations like PA Consulting Group to create internship opportunities that complement and enhance academic learning.


“Our students understand the critical role internships play in preparing them the world of work. As interns, they seek to be an asset to the organisation, adding value wherever they see a need. In fact, according to our most recent internship supervisor survey, NYUAD students are typically noted for their initiative, ability to learn, and communication skills.”


Norina joins PA after spending a year at Deloitte Hungary in Advisory Services, where she focused on enterprise risk services and compliance reviews in the manufacturing and automotive industry.  She has also spent a year as an intern at the UN Headquarters in New York, working on the Sustainable Development Goals agenda setting, among other committee work. 


Having studied and worked in China, the USA and the UAE, Yuhui has a passion for design and innovation.  She is currently working on designing a user interface for a fitness app which won the first prize at an international ‘hackathon’ in Abu Dhabi as well as working on web and poster projects.


Harborow added, “I expect that Norina and Yuhui will learn a lot from our MENA team, but I also believe that they will contribute their ideas and unique perspectives, and we’re looking forward to seeing that.”
