Comprehensive market approach of CARAT+ takes shape

16.12.2016: ....as more loose diamond and diamond jewellery exhibitors sign up With little more than five months to go to the opening

....as more loose diamond and diamond jewellery exhibitors sign up

With little more than five months to go to the opening of the premiere edition of the three –day CARAT+ diamond and diamond jewellery show at the Antwerp Expo on May 7, leading loose diamond and diamond jewellery suppliers from around the world continue to book exhibition space at the event that is explicitly designed to provide a comprehensive set of solutions for the jewellery trade’s most valuable product category.

With the CARAT+ team travelling to key diamond and jewellery production centres around the world, aiming to fill our remaining exhibition space by January, the very specific mix of merchandise and services that will be on offer at the show is coming together, providing a glimpse of what it is being billed by the organisers as “the world’s premier diamond event.”

Exhibitors will represent four product sub-categories, name loose diamonds, branded diamond jewellery, non-branded diamond jewellery and services associated with the diamond business.

The goal is that they provide a complete selection of diamonds and diamonds jewellery for the show’s two primary groups of targeted buyers, which are international diamond wholesalers and mainly European jewellery retailers.

The presence of loose diamonds and diamond jewellery exhibitors alongside each other is particularly important. The diamond category is unique, in that even retailers have to consider individual diamonds in addition to finished jewellery items.

With bridal jewellery – most typically involving engagement and wedding rings – being the sector’s anchor, retailers often need to have on hand a selection of solitaire stones, in different shapes, sizes and qualities. Consequently, in contrast to other jewellery categories, they need to consider finished jewellery pieces and individual diamonds as well.

The layout of the show will take the buyers’ diverse set of needs into consideration, enabling them to interact equally with companies specialising in a range of unset diamonds, and companies dealing specifically in diamond jewellery.

The latter group will include firms offering higher-end branded collections and firms supplying larger production runs of non-branded diamond jewellery.

New trends in jewellery design will receive special attention, with a feature of CARAT+ being a diamond jewellery design gallery, indicating not only what is available in the market, but also where the industry is going.
