Ramzy Al Duhami wins Longines Grand Prix
15.02.2018: On a night of high stakes and celebration, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ramzy Al Duhami took home the Longines Grand Prix title at The President of the UAE Showjumping Cup presented by Longines.

On a night of high stakes and celebration, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ramzy Al Duhami took home the Longines Grand Prix title at The President of the UAE Showjumping Cup presented by Longines.
12 riders made it through to the second round of the CSIO5* two round against the clock competition. After finishing in 7th place in round one, Al Duhami maintained his composure and came out stronger for round two to finish on top.
One of the most popular riders in showjumping and trainer to Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum, Al Duhami spoke following the event to say: “The competition was tough, but I think the weather was to my advantage.
I worked to keep the horse fresh and therefore he still had energy in the second round. For the second round, I made sure to not take too many risks but just enough to put some pressure on and that paid off. He [Ted] is a fantastic horse and I am very pleased.”
Al Duhami, aboard Ted, cleared the Longines Grand Prix course, designed by Bernardo Costa Cabral, in an impressive 43.70 seconds beating Norway’s Cecilie Hatteland, who is having a fantastic year and completed the course in a time of 45.75.
Third position was taken by Edwin Smits of Switzerland on Dandiego B Z who clocked in a time of 46.96.
In other competitions today, UAE’s Sheikh Ali Abdulla Al Qasimi won the CSI2* two phase jumping competition sponsored by Al Shira’aa.
Ramsey’s next big test will be on Saturday when Kingdom of Saudi Arabia compete in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of UAE where they will face strong competition from New Zealand Egypt, Suizterland, Syria, UAE, Ireland and Italy. The competition starts at 3pm on Saturday 17th February at Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
