ŠKODA AUTO verlängert sein Engagement als offizieller Hauptpartner und Fahrzeugpartner der Tour de France bis 2023. Damit schaffen der Automobilhersteller und der Sportorganisator nach 15 Jahren erfolgreicher Partnerschaft die Grundlage für weitere gemeinsame Erfolge.
ŠKODA AUTO Vorstandsvorsitzender Bernhard Maier und Alain Favey, ŠKODA AUTO Vorstand für Vertrieb und Marketing, haben heute in Genf die Vertragsunterlagen für den tschechischen Automobilhersteller unterzeichnet. Für den Tour de France-Veranstalter A.S.O. (Amaury Sport Organisation) unterschrieb den Vertrag Präsident Jean-Étienne Amaury, die Tour de France vertrat ihr Direktor Christian Prudhomme. Die umfangreiche Kooperation wird neben der Tour de France-Partnerschaft auch um andere Radrennen erweitert.
Alain Favey, ŠKODA AUTO Vorstand für Vertrieb und Marketing, betont: „ŠKODA und Radsport – das passt. Die Verlängerung unserer langjährigen Partnerschaft mit dem Tour de France-Veranstalter A.S.O. unterstreicht die enge Verbundenheit der Marke ŠKODA mit dem Radsport. Die Unterstützung der Tour de France und weiterer renommierter Radsport-Events ist für uns Ausdruck unserer 124-jährigen Unternehmenstradition. Schließlich begann die Erfolgsgeschichte der Marke im Dezember 1895 mit der Produktion von Fahrrädern.“
Die Kooperation mit dem Sportveranstalter umfasst neben der Tour de France auch die Radrennen La Vuelta, Paris-Nice, Critérium du Dauphiné, Paris-Roubaix, La Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège und L’Etape du Tour. Zudem erweitert ŠKODA sein Engagement und unterstützt auch die Radrennen Paris-Tours sowie die Volta Catalunya. Während der Tour de France, La Vuelta, Paris-Nice und Critérium du Dauphiné stellt ŠKODA zudem das Grüne Trikot für den jeweils punktbesten Fahrer.
Bei der Tour de France 2018 fieberten an der Strecke rund zwölf Millionen Radsportfans mit, dazu kamen rund 1,4 Milliarden Fernsehzuschauer in mehr als 190 Ländern der Welt. Damit ist die traditionelle Frankreichrundfahrt das drittgrößte Sportereignis der Welt. Die von ŠKODA AUTO angebotene Event-App verzeichnete 2018 rund 1,5 Millionen Downloads.
Wichtiger Bestandteil des Tour de France-Engagements von ŠKODA ist die Unterstützung des Events als Fahrzeugpartner. Dabei glänzt die ŠKODA Flotte von Beginn an durch höchste Zuverlässigkeit. Auch einzelne Teams sowie Funktionäre und Organisatoren des Rennens stattet der tschechische Traditionshersteller mit Fahrzeugen aus. So dient zum Beispiel der ŠKODA SUPERB als Red Car für Tour-Direktor Christian Prudhomme. In der rollenden Kommandozentrale kann er das Glasdach öffnen und im Fond stehen. Das Peloton hat er so vor einem Etappenstart optimal im Blick.
Darüber hinaus ist ŠKODA mit großformatigen Werbeschriftzügen präsent und kommuniziert das Event aktiv auf vielen unterschiedlichen Kanälen. Für die Tour de France 2019 wird ŠKODA AUTO eine neue Marketingkampagne ins Leben rufen, die Zuschauer im TV, online und in den sozialen Medien verfolgen können.
Die Gründungsväter Laurin und Klement legten 1895 in Mladá Boleslav mit der Gründung einer Fahrradmanufaktur den Grundstein für die Erfolgsgeschichte des Unternehmens ŠKODA AUTO. Daher ist das Engagement des tschechischen Automobilherstellers im Radsport neben Eishockey ein Eckpfeiler der ŠKODA Sponsoringstrategie.
Die enge Verbindung von ŠKODA zum Radsport geht dabei über reine Sponsoringmaßnahmen hinaus. Mit WeLoveCycling.com betreibt ŠKODA eine unternehmenseigene Website mit Inhalten rund um das Fahrrad, zudem gehören Fahrräder und entsprechende Accessoires seit Jahren zum erweiterten ŠKODA Produktangebot.
